Mechanical Roller Cam/Hydraulic roller lifters?
Is this possible? I want the benefits of a hydraulic roller but i can only find 2 made by the same company and they aren't what i want. I thought about getting a mechanical roller but i don't want to deal with the hassle of setting the lash then resetting it every weekend because it will be in my daily driver 73 F100. Then i got to thinking maybe i could just use Hyd roller lifters and have the best of both worlds?
It will be 390 .60 over and i'm shooting for 450hp/500+tq with Edl heads ported/matched and all the forged goodies with a stock crank and 4 bolt main conversion. I don't want to go the stroker route. Don't ask why because i don't know either

Don't do that - not always compatable. Sometimes they are OK, but you won't know until you ask the cam company. Right now I have about twenty two hydraulic roller grinds and I am certain that other supplliers have plenty more as well. Hydraulic rollers go away somewhere around 5500-5700 RPM so build the package around that range.
You'll have a hard time hitting your torque goal with a non-stroked 390 unless its really worked over, but the horsepower should be attainable.Survival Motorsports

Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
