Takes big torque to move a pickup and it takes big inches to get big torque.... Can get some improvement in aero by lowering the truck, keep the fugly truck mirrors off the side, rolled pan on the front, etc. Also need to get some weight in the rear, fuel tank and battery are the easiest to do. Those leaf springs and staggered shocks in the rear aren't going to do it!!! Leafs are ok, need some housing floaters and 32" ladder bars for a better hook. Another consideration would be some engine setback, not much room to go back without some extensive firewall mods, but it can be done. Can you beat the Mustang??? Sure, but it's gonna put a bad hurt on your checkbook to do it!

don't bother with the FE go with a 460 or bigger like 514 or really go nuts with an 815 bbf.the biggest problem i have seen with the fox body mustangs were the floors were cracked at the driver seat from the rockers to the tunnel.i liked the mustang ii,i've owned a couple in my day and they were really good cars.

So i lined up dodge against for today and dodge won twice. Maybe ford not good idea.

If you want a 445 we just finished one and had it dynoed Friday. We made 522ft/lbs at 2900. I'll post the dyno sheet in my build thread. We'd be happy to build one for you.

Build It into a monster truck and run his car over, that will shut him up and have everyone at work talking about how freaking cool that was.
