what carburetor to use?
i'm not a real motorhead yet, so i came here,
Now, I know a lotta performance engines use these new fangled fuel injectors, but with a 66 mustang fastback, i wanted to throw in a good old fashoned carburetor....so my question is, would this work with a 460 big block?.......if so, what kind of carburetor would you recomend??Last edited by damage inc; 09-12-2004 at 08:35 AM.

which carb is right??
If you ask me a predator is a big carb for that motor and if you're not pushing more than 400 ponies out of it it's almost useless. you might try a 650 carter to a 750 edelbrock or holley I like carters and edelbrocks because they are easier to tuneAFDirtBoy

one of the best things about a perdator is has a variable venturi, you can change a fuel cam in them that lets you run from about 600 to 930 cfm. carb. the size of the cfm is according to how much air your motor can pull through the carb. if a predator is working right it does its own tuningLast edited by lt1s10; 09-12-2004 at 11:39 AM.

Yes, this may be true, but the same could be said about Edelbrocks or Holleys. A lot of how these carbs are rated relies on the Jets. As such, with the interchangeability of any modern performance carb, you can tune it to almost any motor. All you need is the shell. Oh, and if it was me, i would run an Edelbrock performer 700.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

When I was about six years old, a race car on a trailer went past our house. I thought it was the coolest thing I had EVER seen! And I haven’t been the same since. That was over fifty years ago. ...
