Tell us what FE your running....
Or building for your project. Things have been kind of pokey here lately so hope this will stirr them up a bit. I'll start...
1963 406 HP solid lifter block .030 and ported lowriser heads. 428CJ crank and LeMans rods. Crower 16331 solid lifter cam and springs. 3x2 Tripower carbs and intake and running the ol' mech dual point dizzy. The intake, fuel log, linkage, dizzy, timing cover, valve covers and brass expansion tank are polished. The rest of the engine is black. Nothing fancy or really exotic just good old Ford iron built for a cobra replica. Anyone else? G.
Got to Love those Tri-Powers
Still collecting parts for my 64 Ford Custom 2dr post (Fords bottom of the line full size car), but the engine is built.
Bored and stroked 352 that now sits at 401. Rotating assembly balanced, actual 9:1 compression a "little bit" of head work and some oil system mods. Intake is a 63 T-Bird low rise tri-power (these are a bit lower than the majority of the FE tri-powers you come across to fit under the Birds hood).
The manifold was slightly modified to accept Rochester 2 GCs, a large base center and small base outboard carbs). It currently has a Mallory dual point distributor but planning on changing that to an electronic unit. It will be getting the factory headers, I've just about decided on the shorty units because I'm a little concerned about weight the long style will put on the exhaust manifold bolts.
Tranny is a C6 from a latter 428 car and the rear is the original 9" with 3.50 gears.
