302 Wiring
OK Guys, Need some help. Have an 83 F-100. Pulled out the stock 3.8 and bolted in a 5.0, carbureted with HEI ignition. Now the fun begins. This is my first project and have no clue about how to start running the wiring. Need some kind of guidance on what wires to tap into and run to Dist/AC/Elec Choke..etc..etc.....also running elec fuel pump and elec fan system. HELP

well for start, get a wiring diagram... find your already there wires for the 3.8 and either the exisiting connectors will work, or you may have to just change some of the wiring connectors..... for the fuel pump and electric fan, find a fuse on the fuse box that is for something your vehicle does not have or is non functional, and check with a multimeter to see if its only hot when the vehicle is on.... then all you gotta do is wire it in there and use the right size fuse.... a 10A fuse should cover both of those but i'm not positive, depends on how many amps the fan and the fuel pump require, they should have some sort of rating on them, if they dont give the amperage, the resistance and voltage is enough to figure out how many amps it should draw

Denny has a great schematic for the ignition box/distributor wiring, hopefully he will see this and post it for you. The electric fan circuit (why an electric fan?) will need a good relay and a thermostatic control as well as a manual switch. Most all of the electric conversion fans come with a schematic for the wiring.

OK thanks guys. Evidently Denny didnt see the post. As far as the electric fan....I spent over 700.00 on a March performance serpentine billet aluminum pulley system for engine, not covering it up with clutch fan and shroud...LOL
