Non-HEI distributor for 5.0 Ford
I have a 92 5.0 HO, converting to carbs, and I'm looking for a distrubutor ( not MSD and $600) to replace my HEI unit.
Anyone out there "been there, done that?"

I used an Accell unit, they work out well. Or try your local parts store, and get an OEM type distributor and matching control box.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

So, I was trying to get product , part number, etc.
What Accel unit did you use?

110-49201 is for 351

Hi fellow illinois'n, I have been there done that, I guessing your 92 5.0 motor has tfi distributor in it with the electronic controls which won't work, I have an 85 mustang gt and wanted to run carb and a 92 motor as well I went to autozone and got a remanned 85 gt distributor cuz it has the steel gear needed for the roller cam and vacuum advance, I believe it was only $50 plus core. The duraspark ignition the 85 gt uses is easy to hook to either msd crane or holley ignition or even cheap just use the 85 duraspark box which is like $25 bux or cheaper if found used I have an extra you can have for $10 thats still in my car, heres a link to a good site http://www.jason.fletcher.net/tech/tech.htmlike a volvo with gun racks.....

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
