To answer his comment about a notch in the dist cap---------that notch lined up with the mount of the vacume advance mount.
The Accell dual point dist can be wired with a simple switch to either use both sets of points for dwell or wired separate to have the other set so as to have two timing points. I did this with my Ford dual points back in early 60s but the Accell made it much easier with there wiring methods

Personally, I like the GM HEI, and even mopar makes a version: I'm running it on my dodge 318. Although, the module does seem a bit delicate. I keep a spare in the glove box..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
