Nope, the front end will slide forward, then tilt. I don't like the cut fender deal, did it on a car once and they become a real obstacle to run into with the kneecap!!!!!

Up & out... then tilt for fender clearance is a good idea. :D
They won't be the fancy one's inside the rail like yours are, (the '57 will be a round tube frame) but yeah, the geometry has to accomplish the same thing. Used the same type hinge on a number of drag cars, sure makes work between rounds a lot easier!!!!!! Also, the pivot has a quick pull pin in it, so if it's serious work you can just get the front end off and out of the way. Quick pins and dzus fasteners are two of the greatest inventions since the wheel!!!!
Been playing with some small things. Replacing the door latches and strikers with something a bit more modern, then decided to install them bass ackwards for the heck of it---latch in the B post, striker on the door.
Sanitizing the window openings, side windows will now be removable tinted Lexan instead of overweight glass and mechanisms.
Sold the trunk lid to a restoration guy, new one will be aluminum with the structure reshaped and structured to support an adjustable "wing" on the back.....
Lots of little stuff, if I could take pics worth a dang I'd post some. Have to wait till the weather warms up a bit, then I can have the windows and doors open and just use some natural light...
About time to put it back on the "ignore" pile, get my pickup finished (again) and get the 'maro put on the rotisserie!
If I decide to keep the '57, got to put a Supercharged DOHC Aluminator in it!!!!!
Or, everything is for sale, and I'll save the Coyote for the Ranchero.
Decisions, decisions, decisions................
Don't forget the Bronco, Dave! And don't you have a 57 Buick around there, too?
'54 Buick, '88 Bronco II, '82 maro, '67 Ranchero, '71 Ford pickup......1/2 owner- '57 Olds, '65 Impala SS..... Then I could go out to the farm and start on that list!
Too many projects is kinda like too much horsepower, can't imagine it ever happening to me!!!!
Hey Falcon, still want to come up and help me bend up the cage and frame for the '57?????
Man, I'd love to see your setup sometime, Dave. Maybe this summer/fall I can get away from work and mama for a few days.
