Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Started fettling the door skins last night, with a bit of trimming they more or less went straight on, Held in place with a few small screws at the moment, hopefully bond them on tomorrow. Just a bit of gapping needed and we should be good to go.

Steve, what you accomplish in your front garden/driveway amazes me. You will have a well sorted car before you even get it into your workshop. I must add also what a fantastic finish on that body that tells me that the mould must be in good condition. Oh how is the '26 coming along ??
Thanks Whip, Now that you mention it quite a few people have mentioned the building on the driveway thing, To be honest i don't see it any different to working in the workshop, the only bug bear is you get stuck if it rains.
It obviously helps to have my workshop at the end of the garden but its really not a big deal, infact i enjoy it :)
Regarding the mould, Its not absolutely perfect but in my opinion its the best one we have in the UK, The problem with getting a decent mould of any Willys body is that they were not a well put together car from new, I've studied a couple of steel cars over here and some of the panel fit and door fit is aweful, but thats how they were.
I'm still doing bits on the 26T inbetween this and regular work, I've got the short motor all built up and i'm currently in the middle of doing the flow work & porting on the heads which is taking a while, so nothing interesting to photograph i'm afraid.
Been looking around for door handles & window winders but couldn't find anything suitable so decided to make some, found some offcuts of 1" round stainless and a few bits of 3/16" stainless plate, These are similair to my 26T handles but more simple which fits in with the car.
First job was to turn up and bore out the 1" bar for the handle bases.

Next i needed to get the hole square to match the square shafts, a bit of 2mm stainless sheet was cut up and folded round a bit of square bar, then the joint was welded.

Next the square tube was pressed into the bored out are of the handle bases.

Next job was to weld them in. Then they went back in the lathe to be faced off.

Heres the handles finished, they just need polishing to finish.

Nice handles.
Working stainless for 32 years now and still never figured out how to drill a square hole.
Nice tip.
Glad it helped you bud, thanks
I need to get these doors done & dusted as i want to paint them and get them over to my mate the Bigbossman Ian, he is a signwriter extrordinaire and is the best i've ever seen and he has offered to do all the writing on the Willys but he wants to take the doors home and do them there.
This is the logo i intend to run on my doors, everybody said i should use my own Rodshop name but as this is a fun car i wanted to do something a little different.
I suggested Bubba Gumps Speed Shop and Ian done the rest, the car will be a blue like the pickup below, and the Shrimp in the logo the colour of the one below.
