Very nice. I have watched this since you started posting it here and it is still hard to believe you didn't start with a solid body. Great work.

Randy - probably want to send him an update when you are "done". I caught it this morning @0730. Now I'll get in line for the autograph session. Between you and Dewey, phew:D
(Dam' but that show irritates me with his giggles and cackles - and I really like what he does)
Just found this thread---And you are one talented puppy! Love the build and the car! I assume you are using TIG? Perley
You were on Gearz?? Man, that's really cool. What a great acknowledgement of your skills; I'll bet you were grinning ear to ear.
Here a little update on what I did to the c-cab.... I'm watching my money right now... My wife has to have a surgery... So I haven't been doing to much on it right now..:(
Looking good Randy.
Always nice to see an engine in place.
Hope all goes well with the wife's surgery.
Good luck to your wife, hope all goes well.
Are you using the 350?
I just picked up two 283's for $25, the guy wanted them out of his garage.
One will go in my Poncho eventually.
love the orange and black yes sir
Thanks Guy's... She didn't get to have the surgery yet... Looking like the 24 of this month.... We are hoping... She has a infection inside her body that's trying to post pone it... We are going to try our best to get that taken care of this week... Not sure yet what's causing it.... But thanks again Guy's...
As for the black and orange.. It's not going to be that color when it's all done....
and yes the 350 is in for now... I would love to have a big block chevy in it... If I get my way with it... I would like to build a custom intake with 8 side draft carbs... Something wild for sure... Might just get a tunnel ram for now..
I'm planning on a big flake green or something very wild... Kind of 60's or 70's style.... Not writen in stone yet... I have a way's to go, And the money is on hold for now..My wife come's first..Thanks for caring ...:(

Great video Randy!!! Hope things work out fine with your wife and you're soon able to get back on your project!!! Sometimes things happen to remind us what our real priorities are.....
Well Guy's !!! Look's like I may have to ditch the music on my new video,,, I have been supporting the 50's music for a very long time... And now I guess I can't use it on my video.... What has this world come to ????? Really sad !!!!!
Wife's been doing a little better now,,Been stuck in the house because of the storm ...But,, I was playing around today and dreaming..... I was trying something out on paints today...This is what I came up with...
Wow, now that would get your attention.:D
That looks cool! I was reading the new Streetrodder mag (Oct) and noticed an ad for hemi heads for a sbc. That would be pretty cool on your 350!
Oops, my bad I just looked them up and there for the LS Chevy instead.
My memories a little foggy, I seem to remember the SBC HEMI conversion, I don’t believe it ever got much past building a few prototypes. The last I seem to remember hearing about them was one of the engines being auctioned off from Smokey Yunick’s garage years ago.
Hemi conversions were not all that uncommon, but usually just a VERY few sets for a given engine were produced (remember you've also have to consider a lot of little one off stuff to go with it like head gaskets, push rods, intakes, valve covers etc).
A few of the other conversions that come to mind are the Ardun Flathead conversions, and Mickey Thompson actually selling a few conversion sets for the Ford FEs and Pontiac Motors. As I recall Thompsons versions were based on the First Generation Chrysler Hemi Heads. As the bore spacing was the same for the HEMI, FE and Pontiac motors and there were a couple manufactures already pouring aluminum HEMI heads (think top fuel in the 60’s) modifying a raw casting for the Ford/Pontiacs was not a huge or horribly expensive challenge.
I have seen the fake Hemi valve covers sold for the SBC, they look OK at a glance, but it’s pretty easy to spot what they are once you get close to them. Just my opinion, but once you realize it’s just a poser HEMI it detracts from the whole car (but I’ll admit I’m a little bias as I have a couple of HEMIs).
I have seen the fake one too... That's not for me... I'm a real kind of guy..Just my way of thinking... I like the hemi's don't get me wrong... But I don't have one.... I have a sbc sitting in it right now, But My plan's from the begaining, Was a bbc with a home made intake with 8 pipes coming out the intake 90ing right over the valve covers with 8 side draft carbs,, something wild looking....I do have a bbc coming soon..I was just playing around with them pictures..heres two more I did...:)
This is what happens when your stuck in the house.... The mind never stop's !!!!
I have to admit I like the chrome contrast of the engine to the jet black body in the first photo, that and the nice belt driven blower setup!
