I'm sure it's really easy to speed in your area. You guys have some nice speed limits there. We have no 2 lane roads here at 65mph, and our interstates are 70. Yours are 75 if I remember correctly. Man, after I got back to slow ville I caught my self speeding more than usual. :LOL:Quote:

Back in the day of the first oil imbargo-----mid 70s?, My pardner John Keeling took the stroked 427so (428 crank/427 nascar block/) out of his 69 F100 and put in a slant six---fuel economy and would run on what gas that you could get in California---just couldn't get gas for the higher compression engines when that all went down plus the price went over $.50 gallon and he had a long drive to get to work at the LAX airport----------Saddly its all gone now---John, his truck, the 427, TWA, $.50 gas------------
Lots of little tidbits done the past few days: I had a run in the door that was troublesome so decided to just konock it down with some 400 and reshoot the door. The rest is good. Scrubbed lots of dust and overspray off the frame, finished bolting a few more things on the motor, tore down the intake for paint/new gaskets, and got the flywheel/clutch/pressure plate lined out. When I bought the ranger 5 speed the guy gave me the clutch and pressure plate and said it had only been put in about 6 months before. It bolts right up to the SHO flywheel. The weird thing was that the entire pressure plate was packed with feathers and hay! The Ranger was a farm truck so I guess he used it around his chicken house. It took about two hours with an air hose and a long skinny screwdriver to get it all out.
That's going to be a real fun ride

Hopefully it'll be back on the road by early spring. It's been a time thing lately, I changed jobs in October and its really cut down on my garage time but I'm squeezing in what I can.
It's looking good! I had a mouse nest in the bell housing of my 72 and didn't know it until after start up and noticed the pieces coming out. When we pulled the trans, the nest wasn't very big, but the started behind the pressure plate. I was like, really? :LOL:
Lots done today; drivetrain is bolted in for good (barring any unforseen disasters). I've got upper gaskets on the way, now I need to pick up some header wrap and get them wrapped and installed. I also saw a pretty cool video on how to build your own fuel injector cleaner. I'll be giving that a shot before too long. The car sat a while and the gas smelled funky so I want to make sure the injectors are clean and working before installing them. They go under the upper intake and a lot of stuff has to come off to get to them.
Looks good Falcon! I'd say definitely a good idea to clean and verify operation on the injectors before things go together for final.... Lot's easier now then later and without knowing the history of the engine who knows what kind of maintenance it had or how fussy the owner was on where he made a fuel stop!!!!!
Yeah, that's what I figure, Dave. I dont have my intake gaskets yet but here's an idea of what it will look like assembled. I went ahead and put the door trim, handles, and door panels back on today. Hopefully I can get the headers knocked out this week.
