'66 Mustang project

This might be worth sharing, i am doing some sheet metal/structural work on a Mustang. It will be a resto-protour with 6sp tremec, modular engine & 9" rear.
I just received the body tub back from media blasting it is rougher than thought. I'll have to replace the front frames, cowl, firewall and associate panels. Work prior to being brought here had 'fixed' the floor pans, firewall, cowl etc but the new owner thought something was amiss and brought it here.
These pics don't show the damage or previous work, this is just the overall condition. I don't believe in finger-wagging about how other people do work. If something needs replacing it matters little about how bad it is, right?
What i propose is to do is show how i go about setting things up and doing the replacement, this should go pretty quick so we won't lose interest.

Been there, done that!!!! Often times the word "repair" has a different definition for a lot of us, doesn't it?????:LOL::LOL::LOL:

No finger pointing necessary, the car does that all by itself...

I do like the stand and the adjustable legs to level it up . I use RV stabilizer adjustable stands . Keep the photos coming I am a Mustanger also .

I've run into a snag. I have leveled the car and it is situated proper. I have the jig below it level and square to the body. I started to drop referance points down to the jig so i could construct the fixture for the front frame, the fixture would duplicate the existing and i would be able to assemble the new frame back to the exact suspension points of the existing. The very 1st two points (the lower control arm mounting bolts holes, side to side) are 3/8" difference from each other!
I will have to order up the blueprints for the frame as the assembly manual that came with the Mustang dosn't have that info.

I like the GREEN jack stands--used to be, every place had those--now-a-days-----uggggggg

Well, boys, it looks grim. The owner emailed me this morning and has decided to pull the plug on the project as he feels the effort isn't worth the investment.
We're to talk this afternoon.

No way parts are cheap and a stronger car can be rebuilt doing it .

Nope, done deal. He has passed his pain threshold - makes little sense to me because he planned to replace frame rails anyway so it makes little difference how big the rust holes and the firewall is just another panel tackwelded in. I didn't try to change his mind, it is his decision.
He offered the body tub to me to build a gasser with, tempting.
Anyway, i thank everybody for thier interst and comments, they were kind and considerate as always.
