Great work. Hopefully your heel heals fast! It's always something isn't it?

Got the battery cables made up today so could test the fuseboard, all works perfectly.

Next up was the new lower mounts for the radiator, made in 3mm aluminium and welded on.

Next job was to make a stainless trim around the grille opening, started with some pre polished 1/4" stainless round bar, On my coupe i made this in one piece and welded the joint but it was a real pain getting the radius's in exactly the right place so this time i'm making it in 4 corner pieces and then weld them all together.

as long as its not the pedal foot ( gas or welder)
Steve I take it they can't do the surgery orthoscopicly? With the scoped forms of repair recovery time is much faster. Sorry you have to live with that kind of pain. I had to hobble around work for a year and a half before the insurance companies agreed to a MRI of my knee. Then it was Oh you haave a bilateral tear in your miniscus, that needs to be operated on! That was a scoped procedure, and healed in about 3-4 weeks.
It's good to push for an accurate diagnosis, and the squeaky wheel gets the grease as they say. Hoping there's no tearing there, and you can get to the remedy without the knife, large or small. Being "booted" and "on sticks" for six to nine months would be a hassle I'd not want to have to deal with, for sure.
Mainly bench work the last couple of evenings, got the top half of the grille surround done, its held in place with small tabs welded to the back.

Another small job to finish was the battery clamp, Its basically a 5/8" slot, I couldn't bend it up so I milled a slot into a piece of solid rectangular bar. 2 small bolts hold it in.

Nice work! Hopefully they can get ya fixed up Steve!
If not nitrous might reduce the sting! :)
Not a great deal of progress recently mainly due to having a bursitis on my Achilles tendon so can't stand on it for too long but did manage a few bits & bobs.
Firstly sorted a top hose out, its a stainless bend cut up and rewelded and has 2 short lengths of radiator hose and stainless clips, it got shot in satin black.

I got my coupe out of storage and someone mentioned the truck was much lower so I took this pic to compare them, not much difference really.

I got to polishing the stainless bed strips as well (god awful job) and drilled the holes in them, i'm using rubber matting on the bed floor so had a trial fit.

I also got to thinking about rear fenders and had a good look around but couldn't find exactly what I wanted but then a pal Nick who owns Pro-Laminates came up with some glass ones, they are virtually perfect but needed slightly enlarging on the radius so a few cuts were made and they spread just enough, I will glass up the cuts next job, then I will cut them to add an inch in the width.

Great work and that tendon looks not so fun! Do you keep the coupe outside when you have it at home?
