OK-why do you have a tripple lower pulley? Whats sticking down from the area of the pan rails? looks like a u bend ground scrper? It also looks as if your doing an under drive pulley set??
Pulling a mech water pump and fan is quite a load plus a high amp alternator get s squeemish (maybe squeelie)
Your alternator bracket may leans in as it is only mounted with two bolts to lower block?
I believe the water pump risers push it out requiring the extra belt lower pulley, also may be what makes the water pump look like it's under driven.
The triple pulley I had lying around already so I used it. It is a stock diameter though. It's only a 40 amp alternator. I've been giving the alternator some thought and may put an extra arm on it like the one pictured below. What if you simply duplicated the bracket you made, shorten the two tube spacers by the thickness of the metal, and mount one against the block, the second as it's mounted now, and add another spacer for the adjustment bolt? You'd effectively box the mount, eliminating any concern for bending, I would think. Might look kind of trick, too?
I could do that and add the arm and cut the current arm off. So it would look just like the orange one.
And that would work, too! Just thinking that the added arm is not really necessary if you double up the whole bracket. It'll be rigid.Quote:
