A lot or 10.5 guys runt he 8.6's too. I never would have thought they would take as much power and abuse as they do. Usually most 8.8 lovers will say the 9" takes more power to run and that's why they don't switch over. To each their own.

I haven't heard anyone running a 8.8 complain yet, but the Ford 9" does have a big rep(probably why one is in my truck! :) )
Got the 8.8 narrowed tonight, straight axle is in. Got my ladder bars built, 1 in square tubing, 3/4 CM rod ends, 52 inches long total. Going to start on the tilt front end next I think.
Got my 8.8 narrowed tonight, straight axle has been tacked in place, Ladder bars are done, complete with 3/4 CM rod ends. Going to start on my tilt front end next I think. Done have it bolted together. 8.8 will be fine, going to run a automatic, going to try and put some better axles in it. If 1 does break, the disc brakes will keep it from coming out. If I get serious with this, I'll swap in something else. Moving kinda slow, doctors have taken a large chunk of money the last few mths.
The greedy bastards. Don't they realize the therapudic effects of newly purchased performance parts?
Nice progress. I hope all is going well with your health too!
