I really don't care for them either. I would like to put a roll pan on the back but the Mrs would like a bumper so we voted on it and she won lol. Like Firebird77clone said, I think taking some off the sides would help.Quote:

If you start cutting the bumper down then it will require rechroming unless you are going to paint them. I like the idea of matching bumpers on pick-ups front and rear so my vote is in support of , as Johnboy says, Her indoors who must be obeyed, your wife's view, after all it is her " truck ".
I was thinking about cutting it with a zip wheel and brushing some mexi chrome on the ends. The ends are awful right now anyway so it might actually make them better.Quote:

Finally got to the point where I really needed to paint some stuff and it all went very well. I am a new fan of PPG paint, that stuff lays down like glass. I only had one run and that was my fault. I was trying to get paint in a corner of the seat frame and tried one too many times, I'll sand that out later. My pump puked out on my compressor so I had to bust out my gas one to finish up. A new compressor wasn't in the budget, but I guess it is now. I am always amazed at how much overspray gets all over everything. I guess its at multi purpose shed so it is what it is.
I see that half the pics didn't load, but I think you get the idea.

thanks, I am happy with the way it turned out too. I think it's crazy how much the green changes colors when the camera uses flash, it really finds the yellow in it.Quote:

Thanks for the kind words guys. I moved back inside the cab again trying get the dash buttoned up, I don't know how much more stuff I can fit back there. I need to fit my radio and speakers and that should be about it. Tomorrow I have the day offf and I am going to wire in my alarm and kill switch, It would sure make my life easier if people would act they way their supposed to. I kinda goofed up on where I put my fuse panel. It's in kind of a not so nice place to get at right now but out of sight. Problem is I realized tonight that my air conditioning vent and hose go in front of the fuse box as well which would make it almost impossible to get at. I may just forget about that vent for now, I think the other vents should cool the cab down just fine.
Can't have too many vents on a hot day.
Can't you just make the duct easy to remove? After all, how often do you need to get at the fuse box?

That’s a thought. Just thinking (typing) out loud, but it might be possible to hose clamp the defrosted end to the dash duct (so it doesn’t accidently pull off). Then split the flexible ducting somewhere where it’s convenient to pull it apart so that it can be pulled out of the way to access the fuse box. For the slip joint to connect/disconnect the flexible ducting together I’d probably just use a small sheet of really thin aluminum (something like roof flashing) rolled into a tube the appropriate size to slip inside the ducting and pop riveted together to hold it in shape.

Some solutions are so simple it takes someone else to point them out. Good thinking, that shouldn't be hard to do. A couple wing nuts on the back side of the dash and problem fixed.
