Took Grandson and Son-in-Law out to check on the car today. I think the Grandson has eyes for it.

Hot Dang! Are all those your project cars??? You been holding out on us??? HMmmmm...
No sir, the shop that has done the final bodywork and paint has those projects ongoing. I still think it is a thrill to go out there and see the things they are doing
Final touch up painting finished this week. Some wiring issues with the HVAC remain.

I am thinking about a career change. My first job was to deliver a car to a gas station in Harlan Kentucky on Friday nights and then pick it up on Sunday. I was 12 years old. Did that job 2 years before going to work in a filling station. After 53 years of working, I am thinking that I would like to retire. Problem is, what does one do when one retires? So I have been wrestling with that and it came to my mind the other day that I could go back to delivering white whiskey to interested customers. I am thinking of retiring and becoming a whisky runner. Gotta work out some padding, maybe some refrigeration for the trunk compartment.

Perhaps you and I could become partners. There is a fellow in Jackson, MS that used to come over and look at my 46 coupe at every car show because he said it reminded him of a bootleggers car. I guess it does, but I never really thought about it before he mentioned it.
My grandfather told me that he bought a car at a sherriff's auction back in the 40's that had a hidden tank under the rear seat for hauling 'shine. According to his story, there was still some "product" in the tank. Of course, he disposed of it in the proper manner!
My family was intimately involved in that business in the 20's and 30's up in the Oktibbeha County and surrounding areas. You are quite correct IMHO that the 46 would be the perfect car. Lots of 1.5 Ton 40ish model Ford trucks and mid-30's sedans and trucks would be great too. My first car was a 49 Ford 4 door.
This would have been in the pan handle area of Texas when he bought the car. Seems to me it was a late 30's Ford. Been a long, long time since I heard the story, as he's been gone for over 20 years. It might have belonged to someone your family knew!

You might want to double check that job. Bootlegging requires a lot of gravel road at high rates of speed. Are you sure you want to put your car through that**)**)
I'm aiming at the high end
So after studying how I will carry things in my hidden trunk I came up with the idea that I could use Kaisen Foam and pretty much design different scenarios ranging from tools to mason jars. I think it is going to turn out really nice. Also used heat barrier on the floorboard.

Do you plan on any runs to Florida? I'll take a couple Jars!
My grandfather spent a few weeks in Florida back during prohibition. While he was there, some guy approached him with a business proposition. This fellow owned a boat, but he needed a motor. He wanted to take on a partner, they would use the motor from Grampa's Model T in the boat. They could then start hauling hooch from Cuba to Florida. Grandpa passed on that opportunity.
