Cool pictures. I have a soft spot for '46-48 Fordors anyway. Nice looking ride.
Did you score any good parts there?

A lot of nice cars at the meet, Johnboy. One that got me attention was this one below. We don't see them in the states. Is it a Holden or something else.Duane S

It never ceases to amaze me how much American tin finds it's way down to you folks (aside from that produced around those parts). This one really caught my eye (though the paint's not my style).........imagine a De Soto in N.Z.!!
By the way Johnny, does Ms. Rosie know you're referring to her car as "our"?Last edited by Bob Parmenter; 08-07-2007 at 08:28 AM.

It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

Thanks for the nice comments.....Don, yeah, I found a couple of (very) second-hand hub-caps and some of the stainless rubbing strips that were in better shape than the ones on it.
The hub-caps (we were short of two) will be Ok I think after a bit of tender massaging with an fbh.
Oldfordman, you're right on the mark.....it's a Holden Monaro, I can't give you the model or year, 'cos they're not really a marque I "follow" so to speak.
And Bob, as for calling it "our" car, I won't tell if you don't! (And anyway, She Who Must Be Obeyed calls the Cobra "ours" too!)
As for the paint job on the De Soto, he's a sign-writer, and that's his "work-shop hack", fancy being able to run your rod as a totally tax deductible item!
Good on him, the goverment is quick to take your money off you, so to see someone legitimately use the system to their advantage gives me a good feeling.johnboy
