What is the best program for home?
I want to see what color would look the best on my pro street 70 f100.
Is photoshop the way to go.
I have tryed cheapy programs, and they make it look like i took a marker to the paper.
No gloss and hard to keep trim and things.
(microsoft paint).
Been looking at new vehicle colors, but hard to picture it on my truck.
Thanks for any help.

DennyW, I recall you lightened up a picture for me over a year ago. I am attaching today's work which is the first progress on my car in over a year, noting I have sent it to the Deuce Den also for a discussion of windshield installation. I guess my batteries in the camera are low but I took four pictures and they all came out dark. I brought it up under PAINT but could not figure out how to "lighten" it. I still have the white '29 roadster picture that you made into maroon for me so that shows what you could do for the F100 problem here. Anyway here is my new windshield.

You might want to try downloading Gimp, it'e free and about as powerful as Photoshop. The problem with both is that they take a while to learn and become proficient at.
At least with Gimp if you get discouraged you don't have a ton of money invested in it.

John which way did you do it? I know a couple of different ways but am always curious the method that somebody uses.
Denny, what I did on photoshop for a shadow I needed on some artwork for a tattoo was copy the image (just the image I needed to shadow) I desaturated it, colored it grey, then positioned it in relation to the image where I thought it looked right, then I blurred the edges. Voila! don't know how well it would work on a car, you'd probably have to make the car a layer so you could set the shadow between the vehicle and the background.

i have got to get a program like that. you kept the shine in both pics that was there.
I got gimp editing program.
Still trying to figure it out. it might do that if i knew how.
Trying to go with a inferno red crystal pearl color. like the new dodge.
I get the color changed, but i cant keep the realism.
I have got some nice pics to dream about from you and Denny to put on my box.
How long did it take you to change the one from green to red.
I try hue changes, but it changes the whole page and gets alittle odd.
Thanks everyone.
