WInter driving
Question is do you drive in weather that isn't dry? A guy on another site was talking about salt and his 34 Packard and it got me to wondering.
Lot of people in extreme climates put the hobby cars away for the winter but I quess some drive in rain and salty slushy roads.
About 99% of us in So. Cal. never ever drive in the rain and most cars have chrome bullets where wiper arms used to connect.
So do ya drive in wet weather or not?

Yes I drive in the rain, not snow or salty slush. In the east there is no dry or rainy season, weather happens. You can stay home or drive.

i dont get any of my toys out in inclement weather..neither has heat nor wipers .. but as long as the temp is 60 or better i can stand it ..

I'm no fan of inclement weather but if I have to I go out in the rain, I will usually go, but only if it is necessary. For the last three years the NSRA Nats East have had at least one rainy day so to get there had to go. Usually won't do snow, but again if I need to be some place and the car(s) are required, I go.
Our first car show of the season is Feb 2, with a snow date of Feb 16. If it only flurries, I'll go, but not if the roads are slick. The wide rear tires are no fun in wet slippery stuff. :(
As for wipers, the 57 has none and the 34 has one (ain't worth a damn). Use Rain X on both. 34 has no heat (never did) and the 57's heat is iffy. Pack blankets.

Living in the Northwest, waiting on a DRY day is pretty much out of the question. I have heat (air too) electric 2 speed wipers, so we go as planned.

Yep, and I get wet a lot too. :D In Florida where it rains very often you get caught out pretty often. Sometimes it is just a rain that lasts a mile down the road and sometimes it is a drencher.
The last time I drove my '27 I came home from Daytona in 5 hours of blinding rain, couldn't even see the cars in front of me most of the time. Got home, parked the car and tore it down to fix some issues that had cropped up in 7 years of almost daily use............just never put it back together yet., and that was 7 years ago. :o
