Thanks Tango.... Looks like with a bit of a notch I can get the engine back about 3" or so.....????? Hope so..
Here's one with a tall Deck BB Chevy .
The tall deck pretty much fills the space!!!!   I better get my lazy butt out in the garage and get going on Tom's coupe!!! Got to get it finished up for him before he gets back from Florida!!!!
Got to get the rest of the suspension pieces finished up for the 'maro, then get it on the scales and see where I'm at on the weight.... Didn't bother to scale it before I took it apart so I'm kind of anxious to see where I'm at on front to rear weight.... Got a lot of weight taken off the front end, so it should come out ok. Big block cars are notoriously front end heavy, trying to limit the ill effects of that as much as possible without major firewall surgery......
Didn't get a whole lot accomplished today, cut out the corroded battery tray and the panel like it on the other side and replaced them with some 20 ga....
Between blocking on Tom's coupe and all the visitors today I feel like I didn't get anything accomplished... Hopefully tomorrow will go better...
Anybody got a number what a complete big block with aluminum heads, intake, and water pump will weigh????
i told you ? 560Quote:

well i scaled the alum head big block and scaled the all alum donovan so them weigths are very close have the notes at the shop but i am thinking it is about right. at the time i did the donovan i did get the weigth on the sbc from hot rod mag and knew i had 632 cid and the same weigth as a alum head sbc :DQuote:

Sure hope the numbers are right, now I just have to make room to get the engine back a couple inches....
