aluminum foil, saran wrap

below is a email I got today copied and pasted, very useful and it was actually truthful. The foil and saran wraps had them.. One of the many conveniences of life, hidden all these years.


I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I

care to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like

when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some foil

out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in

the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong

time.


Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went

to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and

looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, "Press

here to lock end". Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock

the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I

then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I

then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the

number of times the Saran warp roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover

something up.

Now come on, who here knew this already.

me didn't know that but every box of foil and saran wrap we have in the house is held in the box now.. even the cheap brand stuff

Read the instructions? My god man, have you lost your mind? It is every chest thumping, refuse to stop for directions, why are there always extra parts left over, man's right to toss any kind of instructions or assembly guide straight into the trash.

On more than one occasion I can vividly recall my father sitting at the kitchen table getting some form of first aid from Mom because "those instructions were written by an idiot".

Ive done a few weird things early on in life with foil before, But I would not have the patience these days to fab panels from aluminum. Now its just many many trips to the grill with my foil. I am now officially at my heaviest weight ever !

Aluminum foil makes good hats to keep the government from reading your mind. Saran Wrap does not.

BTW, if we're going to do helpful hints, though this one isn't as valuable as Jack's protective hat, foil makes a good, quick, effective masking material if you're going to paint where there's a wire loom or hoses and don't want to do major disassembly. Easy on, easy off.

love this. I didn't know ,and buffaloed the wife with it.

:confused: Such a deal!!! I never knew that. But, it seems to be only on foil and plastic wrap boxes; our waxed paper and parchment boxes don't have the tabs; all of the foil and plastic wrap do, regardless of the brand. Now, I can amaze my bride in the morning. :LOL:

Ok are we a group of stupid or what. I've never seen those either. I think it is a conspiracy! We have Target brand foil and syran wrap. The foil has the tabs, but not the plastic wrap!

I think an ex girlfriend told me about that one time, but I never paid any attention to anything she said. Ya think that's why she's my ex girlfriend????
