My Johnson Rods are out of alignment. What do I do FELLAS?

Well I was told by the guys down at the Pizza Shack in Little Italy that, the first thing you do is jack the truck up about 3 inches. Then you reset the Binotz fittings with a medium-sized flavitz bar (GM part #4ImADummie). Be careful reading the dial, though, as some mechanics have accidentally stripped Binotz fittings through over-torquing. That should realign your Johnson Rods very nicely and to factory specs. Check your Service Bulletins, though, as there might have been a slight change to this procedure in the mid '50's. While you're at it, this would be a good time to check the grease level in the Fallicalator. It really is a pain to be stuck on the side of the road with a seized Fallicalator (not to mention, misaligned Johnson Rods).
So ya think they are right or do some of y'all have a better procedure for this adjustment??

well that sounds pretty good, but while your under the car, it might pay to change the starter hoses and check the headlight fluid also

Headlight fluids???? Damn I knew I forgot something during my Spring check up. No wonder my lights have been so dim lately. Car lights, that is.:whacked: :LOL: :LOL:

Don't forget to add the fluid under the 710 cap. And the sequential blinker fluid.

If you find your Johnson rods are just worn out and need replacement THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO BUY THEM. Lots of other cool parts as well:LOL:

Muffler Bearings and rocket tubes?? How about them thing-a-majings on the rear cylinders and them do-gee-wobbers on the back-up lites? Do they need to be adjusted also?

Actually,I've never heard of realigning a johnson rod without first pulling the finnegan pin,and recalibrating the thermodroxel to 107 degrees F ambient. Perhaps your way is simpler,but with mine it's rozzer to slip a cracker the dropsy in snide. Hope this helps, Hank

I was gonna mention the muffler bearings, thanks gusaroo for pulling out the stops and having a picture. Everyone seems to forget that the kanooter valve should be changed every blue moon or so. Or else you could have an oveabundence of the supercalifragalisticexpiallidosious levels in the fluid level in the headlights./ Not to be misstaken for the typical overflow you get from the headlight fluid. This is a whole nubber lebbel !!!!!!!

I had one once but the wheels fell off........and her name wasn't Ivy....and she didn't die in a flood!.....:p
