I cant complain about the cold today.....today its all about straight line winds....and tornado warnings. Puzzling isnt it. Two weeks ago was pouring on the clothes.......now back to near buck naked. :LOL::LOL::LOL:
Seriously....I dont know how you guys stand it up north. Brrrr. Allergic to the stuff.

Got up this morning to a balmy 55 degrees at 8 AM, tomorrow more of the same before old man winter returns on Tuesday.:mad:
After seeing the news this morning I'm surprised that some of you people from the midwest aren't treading water today, or at least looking for your waders.:eek::( Punishing weather knows no seasons. Flooding beginning to be an all year event in some areas.
I pray that no one here is severely affected by it.
They got it pretty bad around Chicago. Some of the people had just finished cleaning up, and repairing from September now they are flooded out again. I could not deal with the flooding. The cold, snow, high winds that enough for me.

Well after being snowed on for days here in the Seattle area we are finally back to our typical rain... first time in years I've been ecstatic that it's raining! :rolleyes:
A snow shovel this big is needed for a drive 1/4 mile long. Man I love winter:eek:
I grew up in Mn, I have been thru blizzards that were the snow was as high as the street name signs & -60 below winters, I had a blast growing up in it, now after 55 winters in Mn, we moved to Tn. Today we took down the rest of our Xmas lights, had to take a break to sit on the porch and have some ice tea, it was 68 and sunny all day, then at about 6:00pm we went back out and watched it rain & 57 degs. :D :D :D AHhhhhhhh! It was a Good move! :D

Just as we are finally getting rid of the snow, the streets are all drivable again then it starts snowing again. Not a foot and a half like we had in Jan. but about 3 inches.
Told the wife I'll get the snow shovel out for her in the morning.....:D Don't think she appreciated that remark!

It's snowing here again. I was just feeling like I had been released from prison and it's snowing again.
-37 yesterday morning. My '95 Ram 318 started and died half a dozen times, then the EFI flooded it and she was done. Found that the block heater cord was burnt off! Here I'd been faithfully plugging it in all winter and the damned thing wasn't working. Good thing it's a 318, they usually start good in the cold. EFI either starts right up or you walk away from it. Gimme a carb for reliable starting in really cold weather!
Upstate NY - not very cold these past few days, but a 1/2" of fresh ice on everything this AM ~ 0400, when we had to take daughter #3 and grandchildren to the airport. You folks can keep the negative number temps F wherever you are:3dSMILE: Phew!!
Well, after unusually heavy snow the next phase is warmer temps and solid water becomes liquid water. Here are a couple pics of the Cedar River just down the hill from my place. The first pic is the upstream side of the bridge looking at the flow under an abandoned rail bridge. The second is the downstream side of the bridge and a few homes along the riverside.
Man that gives new meaning to water front property. Hope your high and dry there. The river behinde my house is up about 10" now. The hydro plants and DNR control the level here as there is a dam about 8 miles either way from me.
I've been watching the weather in your part of the world via the Weather Channel - hmmmm. Then of course there is the drought area in the South that's now under water.
We have had one snow storm/rain storm after another since about Thanksgiving. The weather all over 'sucks'. A dog sled race in Minnesota canceled due to too much snow, Alaska having weeks of negative temps and no relief in sight. Canada is a deep freeze more then usual, Europe is in a cold snap, etc, etc, etc.
Now, was Algore right or not!!
Bob my oldest brother lives in Steilacoom. His basement flooded with two inches of water last month during the storms. It's been very wet in the Pacific Northwest!
