I want to thank all of you that posted photo's and responses to this tread. It's really nice to see some faces with these names. Again, the camaraderie on this site is amazing, so get real close to your monitor for a group hug  (my wife suggested that)
I wish you all a happy new year!
Ken
Tell your Wife thanks for the hug........we're ALWAYS happy to hug a good looking woman.:):) Happy New Year everyone..........may 2009 be the very best year any of us have ever had.

Pity you cant make it to New Zealand Ken,one of the biggest two day hot rod festivals is on in January,17 and 18th,Kumeu,north west of Auckland.
Officially called 15th National Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival. Usually about 1500-2000 cars, trade stalls,etc..Gene Winfield had a trade site there 2 years back,so much happening, two days is barely enough..:D
Forgot, hope you all have a happy new year, from us down here in New Zealand.
Greetings from England UK,
Hope you all had a Great Christmas and all the Best for 2009
Myself and a few friends are going to the GNRS in 19 days time (not that we are counting)and spending some time hunting out the Rods/Speed Shops
any ideas?
Dave
Last trip we did down there we hit Limeworks, Hollywood Hot Rods, SoCal Speed shop, and a very good tour of Edelbrock. There's actually two Edelbrock stops you might want to do. They do plant tours on a routine basis, so you only need to find out when those are scheduled. Less well known, but interesting also is the Edelbrock Museum that's a few miles away from the plant. You might have to beg just a little to get scheduled in there, but it's worth seeing.
Well Ken, I'm not usually allowed in high class joints like that!
:)
don't miss the peterson museum it's a great place to see ....ted
Ken,there are quite a few places to visit in Auckland, when do you fly out? Most of us go to Kumeu festival on Thursday to set up our trade stands for the earlybirds on Friday.I will get a short list of shops together and PM you in a day or so..will also give you my cellphone number if you get a chance to call.
A large number of hot rod orientated businesses will be at Kumeu by friday afternoon. When do you leave the States to come down?
I leave the U.S. on the 14th and I leave Auckland on the 17th. I am pretty much free any time, except for one meeting but it will only be a few hours. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I will call you.
Ken
AM or PM on that flight out to aussie Ken? Will PM you shortly with the list, but keep in mind, a lot of those shops will be at Kumeu, the best of the rod shops in the North Island are scattered far and wide, though in saying that, most are only a few hours drive from Auckland.Magoos Street Rods is several hours south of auckland, but is worth the visit..Sounds like you need to come down for a week or two just to take in what we have down here.:D
We had Jim Shelton from Vegas, stay with us for a few days in March last year, when he flew south,he was shown some rods and sheds in the south island that some kiwis dont get a chance to look in.I dont think he spent a bean on accomodation the whole time he was in New Zealand,:D which was about four weeks..The brotherhood is international..:D
