The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Today Denise & I had to let go of a very close friend & companion. Miss Abby had epilepsy and was on some heavy duty drugs to help control it. Well the epilepsy won today. The epilepsy attacks became so bad that she was starting to hurt herself and we just could not take it any longer.
Anyone who met Abby knew she was thier friend for life, she loved everybody. We saved her from the pound 4yrs ago and gave her a very good life, a life that someone else may not have been able to give her. She will be sadly missed but will forever remembered in our heart.Donate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not.
Both are equally terrifying.

Sorry to hear this news. Glad your dog was able to have 4 good years with you. Lost our lab almost three years ago and still get choked up thinking about her." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I am sure you guys gave Ms Abby a good life, but in reality you are the ones who benefited the most from a "Good Dawg".
So sorry for your loss, it is amazing how close we come to them.....
RSProtected people will never know or understand the intensity life can be lived at. To do that you must complettly and totally understand the meaning of the word "DUCK"

Sorry about Ms Abby. Our Trey, a tri-color shelty, also had epilepsy and we did custom mix drugs for him and had him nine years, losing him in 2002. I like your Rainbow Bridge story.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

there is a special place for those who love animals . as my granpa would say " it don't take much effort to pet a dog " ours are special and each time we have to let one go it is painful . but we do it for them , not to them. sorry for your heartache .

Most of us who have been through this know how very painful it is. I've gone through it twice in the past year or so, losing Scooter and Sniffy, my cat buddies for 17 years. My Son Don just went through it too, losing Sassy who was about the same age. It leaves a real, indescribable hole in your life that only a pet lover can understand.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Maybe when an appropriate amount of time has passed you can go to a rescue shelter and save another little life and give it the same wonderful home you gave Miss Abby. Certainly won't be a replacement, but just the opportunity to love another as you did her.
Luckily, I live with my Son Dan and he has 3 cats, so I have plenty of buddies to spoil and having them did take some of the hurt of losing Sniff and Scoot away.

Joe, sorry to hear this we had a Dachshund that had this, and it's a hard thing to see. My wife would put her arms around the small Dog and try to comfort her until the convulsing stopped.
Yesterday morning we had to bury our friend Timothy, we think he either got into poison or someone poisoned him. My wife came up the stairs crying terribly one of our Cats died. I went down to find it was Timmy; he had something on his paws that he had been trying to get off. He was outside for just a short time because of the weather at first my wife thought he was sleeping he was on a blanket my wife has for the cats to be warm and comfortable. Timothy was a worker he always wanted to be where the action was, 4 years ago my wife was on her way home from work. Timmy was in the middle of the road soaked from a cold rain. He was so small, no house around that he could have wondered in the road from. My wife opened the door he jumped in he knew what he wanted. When my wife got home Timothy ate, and ate we thought he would get sick he was eating so much. We feel so bad then they steal our Heart, and become a part of the family. If people get tired of their pet for a $5 donation they can take them to the Humane Society instead of letting them starve or get hit by a car/truck or other animals getting them.
We didn’t ask for any of these Cat’s, they came to us hungry, cold and sometimes sick. We feel sorry for them get them inside give them food, take them to the Vet Dr. have them neutered and spade, give them the shots they need.
The Cat’s were roaming when they came here and we can’t keep them inside all the time so if they get in someone’s way I would like to be told instead of shooting them or causing them harm.
It’s hard to loose them

Real sorry to hear about your loss friend. I've been down that road to many times to count and every time it happens it gets worst. The animals become more of a family and when their gone, it hurts.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
