The family decided we all would take it easier than usual this year. All of us have been laying out so much money on our various projects we didn't all want to go into the new year in hock. But we still had a lot of nice things to exchange.

I got some cool videos......one is a Monster Garage one with Bill Hines and crew chopping that 54 Chevy, the other one is Hot Rods, Rat Rods, and Kustom Kulture. Also a book entitled Dream Garages and a Craftsman tool set that will stow under the passenger seat on my 23. Another gift was a new cell phone that has lots of stuff I need to figure out like a camera and some GPS thingamabob. (I'm SO good with electronics )

Last but not least I got a "Cat Fishing rod setup." You can cast a mouse across the room and retrieve it. So far all the cats we have encountered love it, but they are holding out longer than my casting arm. I've had to hide it for a while to get a rest.

My best gift though was getting to spend Christmas day with Don, Taylor, and Dan.

I got a propane forced air heater for the garage and a movie and puzzle to share with the family. Somewhere around the house, I also have an old rubber toy tractor, but my wife can't remember where she hid it.

Dave, the problem is you did not keep all of it. There's nothing to stop the wind between Madison & KC but a barbed wire fence and I think it's down! We had the same winds, but 'only' seven or eight inches of snow for Christmas Day - drifts to the fence tops
We draw names and give 'wish lists' - got a new dial indicator, an assortment of 'c' clamps, a couple of metric wrenches to fill in blanks, and best of all an afternoon with all three kids and the wife. A great day!

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Well, I heard it was kind of dry down in Kansas Rog, so I just took the south fence down so we could share a bit of our snow with you!!!!! What a guy, huh????

Vara I was the same for 2 weeks after my recent surgery. I finally bought some activa yogurt after three people raved about it, and it worked well on setting my stomach straight!
    Hope you feel better.

For Christmas I got to spend some time on the phone with my brother who was also home alone, and visit my other brother and family for the weekend before. Santa bought me a nice spotting scope for being able to see the targets at a hundred yards, and my wife got me several nice things including a flannel shirt, and socks(yes from Costco, Don, they really are the best!)
Other than that, upon coming home from work Christmas, the dogs gave me a royal greeting full of licks and hugs. Not too bad!

Since we're building the new house we opted not to give each other presents.
We'll wait until we move in and see what we need...then give each other something we really really need.

But a week or less before Christmas I got something I could've done without...

I broke the wife's car. (The `47 Ford.)

Nothing too serious...run bearing has ruined the back left hub.

And flogged universal in back right axle.

    Sigh.

If (repeat if) we can get the parts we'll be back on the road by New Year.
