Lung infections such
I keep getting these stupid lung infections every month.
So I am back on meds again for the 5th time in 6 months.
The doc said it's this humidity here in florida.
Me and the wife have been trying to get the house ready so we could rent it out. Then we are making a run for the boarder.
Back home to Las Vegas, I'll miss the Gators and the Mosquitoes, NOT.
Plus I'll be buying some sand rails for some much needed R & R.

Hi guys, while we are stuck down here facing our winter months I am interested in learning more about where you live in the good old USA. Like Bob where is Maple Valley WA and is the 'gators really a problem? We watch those TV programs filmed in those neat places but they don't really show what living in the real world in those places are like. I am keen to learn as my father always told me "the day you stop learning is the day you die".

Kurt, very sorry to hear about your health problems, I sincerely hope a move back home helps.
To answer Whiplash's question about the gators, I live in central Florida, the Tampa Bay area to be exact (only about 20 minutes from Kurt). My wife has a saying about the gators, "where there's water, there's a gator". We live in a community of 550 houses and many little ponds through out the neighborhood. At certain times of the year, it's not unusual to see a gator basking in the sun on the banks of these ponds, often within yards of the backyard of someone's house. It's not uncommon for people's pets, cats or dogs, to be snatched up by a gator if it gets too close to the waters edge.

An elderly man in central Florida had owned a large yard for several
Years. He had a large pond in the back.
It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with
picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple, and peach trees.
One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he
hadn't been there for a while, & look it over. He grabbed a 5-gallon
bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the pond, he heard
voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer, he saw it
was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond. He made the
women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.
One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you
leave!'
The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you
ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.'
Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator.'
Some old men can still think fast.

81 right now 26% humidity; this is our best time of the year. Pretty soon it will be so hot and humid I’ll be wishing for winter, then wish back to summer. I want to go to that place that Walgreen’s advertise as paradise!!
Hope you find the place that helps you.

Hey,good question,Whiplash,,I think a lot of us down here in the southern hemisphere, sorta dont realise the different climates you guys have up there in that country of yours..and all at the same time..yeah,we understand summer, winter, spring and autumn, but the variation of all that all over the country,if ya follow my meaning...You know...while Dave Severson is getting over a real freeze up in the Dakotas, someone is dying of thirst somewhere in a desert in Arizona...Micah 6:8

For real,Tech??I got a feeling that this is where the thread gets hijacked,so I will apologise to Kurt, who,is doing the suffering here, and I am sorry to here about your health, but Techs post reminds me of a story about a guy from Australias outback, who, one day, decided to take a break, and have a few days at the coast,as he had NEVER had the chance to walk on the beach before. So he packed his bag and jumped on a train, and left for the east coast,to have a bit of R&R.He went fishing, and caught a few mullet, and the odd flathead, first time for fresh fish too..The day before he was due to go back home,he caught another mullet, put it in a bucket so he could take it home to show the family, hopped the train, with his bucket, and on the way home, the water level was receding a bit so he topped it up with fresh water, did this a few times, the mullet didnt seem to care,so when he got home, the bucket was topped up again, and again, until the water was fresh, not salty at all.Well, because of the drought,he couldnt use what little water he had at home on the station,so eventually, the mullet was floppin around out in the yard with the chooks, fightin over scraps of food,no probs....Well,one night, the drought broke, and it poured with rain for HOURS...
The guy came out the next morning, and ya wouldnt believe it...
There was his mullet,lying in a puddle....DROWNED....Micah 6:8

Joe,
July and August is really bad, yeah the temp and humidity equal most of the time. Right now is just before the bugs start coming, nats. Mosquitoes and ticks not to mention the huge spiders and I almost for got the ladybugs. If it weren’t for those pest you could keep the garage door open but they will get you when you have both hands trying to get to a part on the engine that is hard to reach. Other then that it’s a great place to live.
Also they say if you don’t bother the bee’s they won’t bother you, we have just about all of the ones except the killer bees so far. My wife was walking in the yard she got too close to the ones that nest under ground, they one on her in an instant one or two got inside her bra. I have never seen a lady get a bra off so fast even in a moment of passion.
