My F.D. gift to many of you......
OLD FART PRIDE
I'm passing this on as I did not want to be the only old fart receiving it.
Actually, it's not a bad thing to be called, as you will see.
Old Farts are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner (or O Canada ). Old Farts remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them.
Old Farts remember World War II, Pearl Harbour , Guadalcanal , Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam .
If you bump into an Old Fart on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Fart on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Farts trust strangers and are courtly to women.
Old Farts hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.
Old Farts get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.
Old Farts have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it's about their children or grandchildren.
It's the Old Farts who know our great country is protected, not by politician's, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country.
This country needs Old Farts with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.
We need them now more than ever.
Thank God for Old Farts!
I was taught to respect my elders.
It's just getting harder to find them.
Well.......except for Pops, and Richard, and Jim, and...............Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Both my Sons drove 4 1/2 hours one way to be there for my surgery so I am a very blessed father along with being a very blessed husband. The youngest drove up again today and is still mowing my yard after fixing some defective wiring and my Wiff's two boys are coming up tomorrow to see if they can help any around the place.
Have a great and blessed Father's Day Gentlemen !.

Thanks for that Uncle Bob,old fart, and happy fathers day for you guys over there. We have fathers day on a different date but I must be an old fart, because I can't remember what date that is. That Old Fart would suit any part of this world we live in sadly. Mello Yello how are you and so good of your family to come running to your aid, take care and everybody have a good day..I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

How true the words are Bob, as long as us old farts live we will still hold doors open with our bad arms even if the person comes behind us and walks through with out even a node. Us old farts do hold our Military in high esteem. My wife and I met my old working buddy of 40 years and his wife yesterday for lunch, me wearing my Army tee shirt since I have relatives in the Army. I held the first door he held the second going into the Olive Garden. It was nice reminiscing over the years busting our butts trying to make a decent living to give our kids a better life. Not all kids of today have the work ethics as we did nor the respect for their elders. Maybe some day it will turn around and doors will be held open hats will be tipped. I just so happened to have put together a four page letter to my daughter what kind of Father I know I have been to her because we don't see eye to eye. So for this Fathers Day she is getting the letter.

Hehe, I remember when I was 42 and in the hospital with my heart attack, my Sons bought me a coffee mug that read "Old Fart." At the time I didn't really like that a lot because I felt old enough after the "Big One." However, now, 23 years later, reading your post Bob, I am actually proud to be an official Old Fart, because I agree with everything said in your post.
I think I'll hold a door open for someone when we go to dinner tonight.

Great post Uncle Bob, thanks for putting it up! Sometimes it seems the way we live our lives and treat others is terribly out of style... Seems courtesy, concern, and politeness have been replaced with "me and my money first, to heck with you".
Or maybe it's just that many of us have reached the age where we no longer even use money to keep score, and we know that having good friends and helping others is what really pays the big dividends???
Anyway, Happy Fathers Day to all and I hope you get to spend the day doing what you enjoy doing--I'll be working on Hot Rods, of course!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

We have all heard of who kids have gone bad by not having a father figure in their lives.Just know by what you fathers have done with and for your kids have made a huge impact on them for the rest of their lives.
Congrats for another yr of being dad or daddy and I hope all of you have a great day.Good Bye
Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
