Been hearing lots of news of mud & flooding in much of SOCAL, into Arizona and Nevada, and hoping that members in those areas are making it OK and are able to enjoy Christmas in their homes.

Bad deal, makes are 8" of snow quite insignificant.....
This is from the Weather Channel :

The first part of the clip is a restored 'A', then a '50's Chevy p/u
We usually have a bunch of snow by now, but my front lawn - still green with only 2 -3 dustings so far!! Syracuse 140 miles West has about 7 FEET of snow on the ground.
My area - it WILL suffer before winter is done though:CRY:
The mountains got 17 feet of snow in two days. We got 7" of rain at my house. Merry Christmas. Poor Santa
Ken
Heck People how sad to have that happen on any time of year let alone Christmas. My prayers will go out to those who have been caught out with that weather.

Its not been bad in Norcal yet, but if continues it will be, they have 18 ft in the mountains now, its still early in the year, they`ve already opened up a lot of the gates on the reservoirs in anticipation of the rain before it even started.
Well my area just had another ho-hum snow 'event'. The Weather Channel and the locals all predicted a huge dump here. Well we didn't get it. Maybe 6" which in past years would have been a snow squall. Some areas South of here did get a bunch, but the only bad part of ours is the wind. After I finally got the tractor going (summer blend diesel fuel:o) it took about 20 minutes to do the drive.
Oh well - off to 'fuss' with a couple of things on my car
Dave we understand today you are getting hammered by storms...?
Not sure how bad Dave caught it, but, over my way (So.eastern Mass) we caught it pretty good. It snowed, then rained, now frozen! 15 degrees right now. If you didn't clear the mess yesterday, then it's just a block of ice now! We only had 6 or 8 inches but the town just north of us got 18 inches!
I'm glad I cleaned off the daily driver as there's no way you'd be opening those doors today! My 1970 Cub Cadet w\plow dug me out once again! My wife freaks out if I pick up a snow shovel since the heart attack 2 years ago....:(
Everything that was really bad from this storm hit South and East of my part of Upstate NY. My daughter and her family are headed back to New Jersey where they have a couple of feet in their driveway - which is the same thing that happened to them last year. The local shopping centers do have some pretty big piles of snow, but nothing worse then normal for the end of Dec. Then there was that storm a couple years ago - we had over 3 feet, and that one actually slowed my tractor to a slow snails pace. The fun thing with lots of snow - it gives me a chance to play with my DD, an F350 4x4:LOL::LOL:
Hope everyones all ok
Hope all is well with everyone else, we haven`t heard from some of our friends here on site, we started getting hammered again, tonight and tomorrow, so in a couple of days the rest of you guys / gals will feel it.
You really make us here on the Right Coast feel good with that kinda news:CRY:. At least we'll have a few days of OK weather Of the 6" of snow we got, about 50% of it disappeared today with the temps in the mid thirties - which means that I can see my lawn in places again:D
I even worked on my car for about an hour today:toocool:
Good news is it blew over us pretty fast. Cold but clear for the next several days....
These storms are definitely keeping us busy up in the mountains. So far at the house we have had a total of ten and a half feet since late October. My wife has great joy in keeping a running total on the calendar.:D
Nice one guys..We have been lazing around at my mothers place,in 30+deg C[90deg F] heat for the last four days..:D:D
Yeah,we have seen footage of the big freeeze up in the north east states on our news channels..and Virginia and North Carolina seems to have copped a load too..anyone heard from Barb, old coyote, and anyone else I have forgotten about??
Here in our part of the heartland the snows have mostly missed us so far, and this morning we awoke to 54F at 7am with a gusty south wind bringing the warmth up from the gulf. Not complaining about a day pushing 60F in late December!
Wow! Snow melts, water runs off, but the mud stays and gets hard. I would not know where to start. I cleaned up at my mother in laws house after a tornado in 1984. She lived on a lake in Texas and a tornado came thru and knocked over 40 trees, pulled a steel pipe boat dock out of the lake pipe and all, and carried off a 10X20 storage building. Don't know where either went. A couple chain saws and we could clean up! Where do you start with all that mud?:confused:
Here`s just a quick view.... depth of snow,

Man, that's a bunch of snow Rich!!! Sure nothing like that here, just a few more inches of white stuff and a bit of rain first, so it's a bit icy today!!!
