and today when I do my commute to work, I have to contend with a light dusting of snow on the back porch!!!!!!

Tech, I totally agree with you about walking and not using my truck or my wifes car. Unfortuntely I live 12 miles from the nearest Gas station and 13 miles from the nearest grocery store so that scenario doesn't work for me and others who have the same problem. I have a gas hog of a 2006 Dodge Dakota that gets 14 miles in the city and I'm on a fixed income with taxes and bills up my butt to pay or I would trade this truck for another, but I'm not going to buy a 4 banger because I use my truck sometimes to haul 2 or 3 times a week.. I have no one to blame but myself for buying this vehicle but never expected gas prices to rise again.
I know what you mean Chevy. I just bought a 2011 P.U. that gets anywhere from 14-16 around here, maybe 19+or- if the planets are aligned just right when I'm out on a longer run. I too haul a trailer frequently so I need the towing power. Sometimes pulling the trailer with the old truck it was like the tail wagging the dog, and that truck didn't do any better mileage wise. I average about 20-25 gallons a week doing shop stuff. If prices get too far out of wack it might pay to buy a super duper mileage vehicle to drive for those trips where I don't need the towing power. But then I'd be maintaining an extra vehicle so I'd have to *put a pencil to that deal first.
*put a pencil ~ Term used by old farts, pre-calculator/computer days when a pencil was used to do math problems.
Gary---funny that came up---just Wednesday I walked out into the shop with a slide rule in my hand----the new kid didn't have any idea what I was doing----and the only mike he can read is a digital ------
You guys have it easy, our gas is currently $10.50 per gallon and we have been told its gonna be $15 per gallon by june/july
Guys - ya gotta remember that here in the US in some areas like Texas that some folks drive one way to work more miles then it stretches across either of your islands so our four bucks plus a gallon or so gas can hurt here as well. And mass transportation - yeah, only in our chief community organizer's soggy dreams once you get a few miles out of town
Regular just hit $ 3.55 here and I bought premium at $ 3.89 the other day. They are talking about $ 5.00 per gallon by Summer. :( I'm hanging on to my minibike, just in case...........
I don't know how you guys in the UK and other places do it..........$ 300 for a fill up is quite a hit!
Don
I bought this a few years ago and haven't ridden it but a few times. I contemplated on selling it but, glad I didn't as it WILL be my summer transportation! "Oh" it's a 2008 "MADASS" (yep that's what they are called...) that gets 100+ mpg! I recently added a big bore kit and header which really woke it up!

Are their other means of getting at these guys for their pricing??.I'm thinking price fixing I thought was illegal.Logic tells me two or three cents different still is if they walk like a duck.................
Wonder what kind of an impact it would have if everyone staged a national "No Buy Gasoline Day" about once or twice a month.
