I still don't see much of a future for the country with either one of them.... Ron Paul is still campaigning, maybe it is time to get radical and take care of our country FIRST and let the rest of the world take care of themselves!!!!!!
Dave - There are many points that Ron Paul supports that I DO like, but isolationism is one that would keep me from considering voting for him. Another is abolishing Social Security as well as Medicare.Quote:

Social Security would be there for older workers, but it would allow those under age 25 to select their own retirement plan and opt out of Social Security. It wouldn't be done away with in one stroke of the pen but would, over a period of years, be phased out.... Medicare would be funded through the states by a block grant from the feds (States Rights). The "global economy" thing seems to have done little but take jobs out of the country and put them in other countries.
The Republicans brought on the recession, the Democrats are trying to kill us with taxes and regulations.... what else do we do but switch the direction the country is going and try something different? The last 3 decades of business as usual based on which party is in power and has the votes seems to me has done nothing but take us from recession to recession.... Isn't it possible that the country should try and entirely different approach rather then just going back to the same old policies that come and go based on the party in charge???
I'm not saying Ron Paul is the ultimate answer, but maybe he would shake things up enough in the country that people might finally wake up to the fact that this country needs to proceed in a new direction??? Romney keeps hinting that we go back to the "trickle down economics" era, Obama wants the Federal Government to control every aspect of our lives and tax us to death-----Guess I'm just dang tired of having to settle for the lesser of two evils and continually watch our government repeat the same mistakes they've made in the past!!!!! I fail to see where this country has done itself any good by policing the entire world and trying to force our way of life and our system on other countries. Cutting the defense budget by 15% would bring all our troops home, stop all these stupid, baseless wars that accomplish nothing but killing our troops for a cause that the country we're fighting for doesn't even appreciate!!!!! IMO the military's budget could be far better spent with our troops patrolling our borders and throwing the people out who are here illegally!!!!! I'm also tired of seeing this country's efforts and money thrown away supporting outdated alliances like NATO---should we really believe a 3rd world war would be fought with tanks and troops on some European battlefield???? By the mid 50's we had done more then enough in Europe and Japan to get their economies going after the devastation of WW II---we should have brought our troops home way back then. Korea, Vietnam, and now the entire Mid East has shown us that senseless wars on foreign soil with the battle plan controlled by politicians accomplish nothing.....
Isn't doing the same thing over and over and expecting the results to be different a sign of insanity?????

We borrow money from a country that just about has rope around are neck .but it.s ok the TV still works and still can Tex if gas stays lower then 3.50 eveyone is happy ? nice mind game ? Things to think of.. china will drill are oil and take the land to pay off a bad debt? i bet you they find alot of oil here in the US . "With net migration from Mexico now at zero, the role of Asian-Americans has become more important," he said.
About 430,000 Asians, or 36 percent of all new immigrants, arrived in the U.S. in 2010, according to the latest census data. That's compared to about 370,000, or 31 percent, who were Hispanic.

Would almost appear to me that we are still exporting manufacturing jobs, and importing Asian workers to take technology jobs??? No wonder the unemployment numbers are so bleak!!!! These are LEGAL immigration numbers. Who is hiring all these new immigrants and making the prospect of immigrating to this country so appealing? Is our education system so poor that we don't have qualified people to take these technology jobs and business would rather higher new immigrants???
So, if I have this right, legal Asian immigrants are taking technology jobs, and illegal Hispanics are taking the manual labor jobs that American workers won't do---do the unemployment numbers actually show any sort of real number or what????
well that may be true dave but the chinese are not hauling drugs over the fences .there military is not on US soil getting in to fire fights with boarder patrol. taken over boarder towns . buying guns .cutting heads off . kidnaping .killing famers/ranchers.many other things .its not the small river or walk over for them chinese sure most all of them are hard working people. seams like every time they talk about a lock down of the boarder they talk about how hard of a crossing longer and more dangerous for the good hard workers to come over and die out in no mans land it not fair to them . leave your front door open every thing is coming in your house
