This Is Not A CraigsList Notice

What would be a fair tax system that spreads the burden evenly among all taxpayers??? The system we have now just seems to be so wrong in the way it works (or doesn't work). I used to think a flat tax would be a good deal, but it too has it's points of being unfair to lower income people in that it takes a larger bite out of their buying power.

I'm still interested in hearing about things that would work rather then the same old stuff about all the government bs we have now that doesn't work!!!!]

All the rhetoric on the rich and the poor seems to me leaves out the most important part of the discussion, the middle class guy who works his butt off and seems to be the one paying the largest percentage of the bill, and has to put up with the biggest percentage of bs from the State and Federal governments. IMO, the middle class are the ones who built this country and for the most part are the one's who do the work, start the businesses, add new employees to the payroll, and generally are totally ignored at election time......

Didn't say it was bad noise, Alan, just that it was a noisy (and lengthy) way of saying something pretty straightforward - we all come in with nothing, and we all leave with nothing regardless what we have or don't have in between.

As for a "hot rod", seems no one really knows the origination of the term, or even exactly when it was first used.

I don't recall seeing this on here before, and it's becoming a favorite analogy of mine as time goes by.

While suturing the hand of a 75 year old rancher whose hand had been caught in the squeeze gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his role as our president. The old rancher said, “Well, ya' know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle'”.

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, what a “post turtle” was.

The old rancher said, “Well, when you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'”. Seeing that the doctor was still puzzled, he continued to explain. "Now you know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated beyond his ability to function, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with."

Seems to be about the best explanation I've heard yet.

And I am not sure this part will happen. I think "we" are the minority and will have to learn to deal with a new reality very soon.

I won't like it and am unsure on how to convince others that he is a mistake. Especially when the "other guy" is no prize either...

Bob can speak for himself, but it was pretty obvious to me that he was simply pointing out that the closer we get to November we will be hearing that accusation more and more, any time that anyone speaks out against the current administration. Playing that card is simply another way of trying to divert attention from the realities of the shortcomings across the board, and when one diverts attention enough people tend to ignore facts and listen to the "big lie".

There's little to honestly brag about in useful accomplishment for this administration, so they have to fall back on attacking those they disagree with on a personal level. It's what they always do: corporations are evil, right wingers are stupid and racist, greedy and gun toting knuckle draggers. We hear it all the time, they have a set playbook of attacks they just keep using over, and over, and over again. Yawn.......

Well then. I guess I better stitch up a hood, grab my rifle and put some band-aids on the knuckles....

It won't change anything, I'll still be fearfull that another "wrong choice" will be made. I'm just not ready to drop from the grid, YET! :LOL::LOL:
