GM didn't really pay "the money" back, they just transferred funds from one bailout account to another. They still owe a ton, AND we taxpayers hold millions of shares of GM stock that isn't worth what we paid for it. If campaign contributions are disclosed (after the election of course) we'll see where the real motivation was.........UAW contributions in the mega millions. Likely the UAW membership won't gain much from that, but the union bosses will do just fine for themselves.
The other idea that sort of snuck through that commentary was the part about the Chinese politicians living the high life on the money they take from their economy. That's the product of enormous government control. In this country we don't use outright language like "control", we call it regulation.................same result. Politicians criticize business managers for using corporate money for private/business jets, then go out and fly in the worlds most expensive helicopter to the airport where the worlds most expensive business jet is waiting, along with addition aircraft for the bloated entourage. All on the tax payer's dime............or is it borrowed money? Whatever, I'm not seeing a lot of difference
