Well since my buddy isn't around to help with engine fitting, I decided to work on a cheap late 40's cabinet I picked up at a garage sale for 5 bucks. The guy had really cool stickers of stuff I love on it, so when he bundled the tools I had for 5 bucks, with the cabinet I had to accept the offer. I was surprized to find out it was an old Cedar chest, laminated with mahogany. So as much as it killed me to remove the stickers(big pain factor here as I love old bikes) I decided to clean it up, strip it, and refinish it for the house.
So after two days here are some shots, the top has one spot sanded out in the laminate, but a strategicly placed silver tray will hide it. It will be a new counch end table/side board. Note the final satin clear coat isn't on yet, and the miss matched color on the pulls is for me to decide whether to go with a brass finish or a gloss black.
