Congraduations Barb---were you here for the graduation?
sad to say i was not. by the time we got his battlestation call it would have cost 2 k for just the plane tickets. but my hubby is going to drive up to spend the weekend with him in conn. a school once he gets settled in.
This just makes me smile...................................thanks Barb, and congrats to your boy, he's moving on to a life's adventure.
We have a boy and his family stationed in Norfolk. I'm sure Charlie will do fine
Barb - that's great. A big congratulations to you and especially to him. For some reason, I ended up working at GE with at least a half dozen guys that were former submariners. Also, one of my best friends was a sub officer. All are the best (and they really don't glow in the dark after a few trips on a nuke)
Congrats Barb!!! Thanks for sharing the pics too!
Congratulations,,,, One fine looking young man you have there. I am thankful for his interest in keeping our freedom. Tell your hubby to sneak in a hug for all us gear heads at CHR.
God's blessings to your son! He's a great American - be very very proud Barb!
Glenn
thank you all. i am so very proud of him but i never imagined how much i would miss him at the same time. it is a learning experience for us both.
He'll do fine Barb, and thank him for his service!
The pictures bring back memories of '68 for me, Barb! I was at Great Lakes, then to Memphis for my "A" school on aircraft engines. He looks like one squared away sailor! Bet he'll learn how to stretch & roll the brim of that white hat in a few weeks!! Tell him to roll that outer brim down 1/2 way, then stretch it over his knee. Then when you unroll it the top is bigger than the bottom, and you can shape it to fit your "look" - rolled out on the sides, rolled out all around, rolled more back than front - whatever suits your fancy! Then the "sailor tailor" in Connecticut can snug up those pants leaving the full bell, and tighten the top so small he has to have a zipper down the side to get it over his head!! Congratulations, Mom! He'll do fine!
Congratulations from us down here,Barb..He looks good in that gear..Proud mama..:cool:
Congrats!!! Should be a great school and a great start for him!!!!
he hopes to get stationed at norfolk which is only an hour away. I will be sure to tell him about the hat and all of the kind well wishes from you guys.
