Black Metallic or Black Pearl Suggestions???

I put this in the lounge, since it is more about art and personal choice, than "paint & body tech".

I haven't had a request for this in a while, but now I need to find some choices again.

A few years back I did a custom Harley, and after much searching, we shot some paint samples, and chose HOK Metajules for the project.

Since then, they stopped making the old formula... and I understand the new formula is not as good.

I saw a newer Corvette color recently, which is nice too... but would like some recommendations.

My greatest concern is that it not look too "gray".

Ideas???

Jay, you might want to try checking with a company like TCP Global and see if they might possibly have the old formula in stock yet??? Just a thought... Also, I don't remember the company name, but the guys that broke away from HOK about 10 years ago and started up the new company.....If it wasn't for CRS I could even tell you who to talk to their, but as usual, my memory is all FUBAR on the subject!!!!:o:o:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Dave, That company is X-otic Colours. It originally was a local company in Minnesota called Viking Paint... but went nationals. Great paint! I use it often!

I'll check out their catalogue.

Thanks for the memory refresh Jay!!!!! My painter pal Craig uses their stuff and swears by it!!! I haven't done anything nice enough to need more then PPG for quite a few years, I'll have to get with Craig and see what they have new and exciting one of these days! We're so close to them up here, used to be able to get stuff the next day if ordered before 10AM!!! I'll probably use either that or HOK on the '57 when the time comes....

I'll come in with something a bit simple:

Chrysler color code PXR

or

Acura color code NH526M

Both have enough of a pearl and metallic mix to make them stand out
