For Audiophiles out there
Recently my shop speakers bit the dust. The foam surrounds on the woofers are shot. I picked up a new used pair at Goodwill, but before tossing the old ones out, I thought I'd look the up. Turns out there are a ton of web sites stating what great sound Epicure had in the 70's and repair kits are out there to refoam the speakers. It's cheap and they sound like new when done.
So I looked for a similar pair, and found these old Model 2's for a hundred bucks because they had shot woofers too. 50 bucks later two repair kits are on their way here to fix four 8" woofers. The model 2's went for 900.00 bucks new in 1988, and are real beauties. Here are a few web shots of whart I'm talking about.
Figured repair is always better than dumping!
