Spending time on my 72 C10
I'll jack up the '32 tonight and pull off the front wheels/tires which wore out prematurely due to poor front alignment which is now corrected, then I can drop them off tomorrow morning at the local Goodyear tire joint so they can mount and balance my new M&H Racemaster front runners and between my removal tonight and waiting on them to get done tomorrow, I plan to belt down about half a case of Summer Shandy ...hell of a run on sentence.

Then if any of you guys stop over we can party and have some BBQ but if nobody shows up I'll head out for a cruise to see what's happening in the world around here.
hoping to get the fuel sending unit and fuel pump changed out in my AMX
Gotta mow the lawns, here and M- I- L's... Then the 48 F-1 needs a speedo cable.. Got some honey-do's too... Isn't there a race on somewhere???
You know, In the "old days" I'd yell Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll!! In reply to the threads question!**):D:p
Tomorrow we're going to cruise the country side and try to find the wife some antique cabinents so she can redo them and make gifts for Xmas. I've got to repair my Aunt's 02 Ford Explorer, and maybe push the wife's excursion back in the shop. Need to get it done so I can get back at the 40.
Just about anything I feel up to, or whatever my left leg will allow; got lawn to mow, some fluorescent lights to put up in the garage, stuff to sort, move, and re-arrange, and on and on and on. **);)
Going to a cruise-in show-shine tonight and caravanning to a show tomorrow with about 20 cars from my club.
Pickin away at bits n pieces around the house,,putting up with the damp weather..:(:( Pulled the engine/trans out of the Customline yesterday afternoon,so it can get the ''treatment''...It was bought as a runner,,and driven in and out of the previous owners shop for a few weeks, before he pulled it out and sold it to us..I never heard it running,,and while I trust the guy,,i would rather pull it down and refresh it before it gets started..It's quite possible,it could get a 347 inch stroker kit up it's butt,,depending on what I find when I pull it apart..Will definitely get some head work though..;);).. I have a friend in Auckland who is a real whizz with heads,,so they might go for a trip.. This little engine will be fed a diet of LPG,most of it's life so it will be built accordingly..:D:D..
Weekend is only half over so if weather cooperates maybe take another ride tomorrow. I went for a short cruise earlier today. This was at Flat Rock boat launch on the Schuylkill River in Lower Merion.

Nice pic Nick. By the way you suck. Oh whoops, did I just type that?
Hopefully this weekend I'll get to work on my boat. Last weekend I was going to as I have everything for it now. but a power steering line blew on my brothers Civic so he asked me to fix it, and then on his way to work the trans blew on it, so I tried to get his old car running again, and it runs now but quits after giving it any throttle. From research, the cam sensor is out of it which is sold as an assembly with the distributor, and this car is not worth it. He arleady extracted the radio by attacking the center console with a hammer.
Hey bud, watch that stuff!
Actually, earlier today I was sort of sucking up some "radio balls"...before anyone twists that into an X-rated story I'll add that around here they have a concoction going way back that takes a scoop of ice cream in the bottom of a cup and puts Italian water ice on top of it. At some places they call that gelati, like at Rita's Water Ice. But today I had it at the ice cream trolley on Germantown Ave. in Philadelphia where I call it a radio ball. Good creamy vanilla ice cream topped with home made mango water ice. This trolley is a 1948 vintage so a sweet 16 years newer than a '32 Ford.

Very cool. I've never had anything like that.
40,
This is an example of why it's good to just go out for a nice cruise.
On my after-work cruise in my roadster I was stopped at a stop sign on a street I've been down many times. An older guy, about my age, was crossing the street and when he got to the other side I started to move on. Well he waved me down so I stopped to see if he lost his social security check or what, and he asks me about my car and starts giving me just enough feedback that I'm interested in talking more. Then a car comes and I'm blocking his way and he says "just pull back over there" so I do and it turns out that it's in front of his garage; actually formerly a body shop large enough for maybe 20+ or so cars and we really hit if off and he starts telling me about all his stuff inside and tells me to park and come in, which of course I don't need a second invitation. It turns out he's a great old hot rod guy that I will be visiting often, but the main reason for my post addressing this to you, 40, is that among his other cool old motors, Y blocks, flatties, Olds, Pontiac, hemis, etc., early '50's Mercs and Fords, a '63 Vette body stashed up in the attic, etc., there was a '40 Ford convertible hot rod...get this...it was a chopped convertible, all as originally done back in the '50's and never changed or restored, just sitting there collecting my drool. I'm pretty sure he told me this '40 chopped convertible hot rod, or maybe just the original builder, was featured in one of the Rodder's Journals, so I will get some photos and a follow up story as I visit my new friend much more often. He also showed me photo albums and stories about other very cool cars that I can hardly even put into words. I told him my next desire was to build a pre-1940's race car to compete in the antique/vintage car road racing venues and he and I are soul brothers on that concept.
Tomorrow (Friday) if it doesn't rain, we'll be making a couple passes at the track to see what effect the Nitrous & my Rossler 210 has on Jeff's camaro. Switching from a 6 spd. with double overdrive, to an automatic @ 1:1 & adding a good shot of nitrous, I'm pretty sure it will run out of gear before the 1/4 stripe. Hopefully a good 1/8 mile pull will give an indication of the gear it needs. (has 4:30's now).
Wow Nick!
It's bloody gorgeous when things like that happen!
We were in Rangiora (six or seven hundred miles from home,) a few years back, stopped for some groceries, and when we came out two blokes were standing looking at the '47.
I nodded ''Gidday" to them and opened the door to put the bags in.
"Your car?" said one.
"Yep."
"It's a '47." he said.
"Yep."
"It's got a '46 grille in it!"
Hello! This bloke knows his cars!
So we got talking, and it turns out he's owned thirty or forty of them over the years.
"Do you have any spare body trim?" I asked.
"Yep."
He had the majority of the parts I was looking for.
A few weeks later I got a parcel in the mail with the parts, and a wee note, which read: 'No charge.'
How cool is that?
We kept in contact for many years, but he moved, and I lost track of him.
But you never know what that next fella you meet purely by chance may have stashed in his shed!
That's a cool story Nick.. maybe you could "sneak" a pic or two??
This evening I have to figure out if it's the water pump bearings or the alternator bearings making noises and then affect repairs.. Shame that they didn't have any "noises" when the motor was out and apart! GRrrrrr..
Got me a hot date this afternoon/evening; two of my three 10 year old granddaughters will be keeping me company, or aggravating me, or just plain driving me to distraction. Grandma just left for the rest of the day, and the girls will be here in less than an hour; I gotta find something to do with them.**)**):whacked::D
Haven`t been on for a while, at the tail end of recup after surgery, they removed a disc, ( L2 ) after 20 years of pain I decided to get it done, 90 percent better, no leg pain anymore, I kept putting it off hoping the surgery would be better as I got older and it was, only a two inch scar, they had me up and walking the next day, then sent me home I was doing so good....things are looking better....
Good to see you here again 406Rich. I had L5 done last year, I went in basically a cripple, couldn't even stand straight up, left 5 hours later walking out on my own.
left home early today for a day with the wife...She had to get some things for a couple wedding we have to go to...Had an enjoyable day with her. Tomorrow I get to play in my shop as she is going out with a bunch of her friends.
Fairlane's in the muffler shop so I don't have any excuses. I need to finish mowing the side and back yards or pave the entire mess with blacktop - - - hmmmm? there's a thought???
pave it and paint green, then park cars on it
Wiffy said OK, but with one stipulation and that was that I had to repaint it Autumn colors in the Fall, Christmas colors in the Winter, light Green and Tan in the Spring and then I could go back to Green in the Summer. Therefore I decided to go ahead and crank up the lawnmower and perspire and, man, can I do some perspiring. Reckon it's the 807s?
EM your not getting any grass cut looking at your computer. When you get your car back? I only have 5 acres I cut. Maybe this afternoon. If grass dries.
Finished cutting the side and back - - - not much here but before we moved it took me 4 hours to mow the entire yard but I still miss that place like the dickens. Sold my riding lawnmower when we moved because there's so much to mow around here plus some step ditches in front that it wouldn't have been an advantage at all. Got me a "tiny" one know that I have to push myslef but it's not too bad except for the heat.
Talked to the muffla man yesterday and he said that it was on the rack and he had the mufflers and tail pipes hanging underneath but just hadn't hooked it all up to the bottom yet. I gave him a couple other things to check and do so I imagine that, if he's open today, he will be calling pretty soon - - Monday at the latest probably.
We're leaving in a couple hours to stay "down the shore" for a couple weeks. That's local lingo for going to the Jersey shore. This year we rented a house on the beach block in Margate, NJ just down the street from Lucy the elephant. Just a minute ago I said to wifey "if I figure out a way to come back home and get the hot rod I'm going to drive it down so I can cruise the shore with it" So the plan is to ask my two boys if one of their buddies is coming down with a car who can then take me home etc. and I'll live happily ever after for the next two weeks.
I love Lucy!

Good Plan, Nick, especially when you included the "duece" - - - cruising the beach in an open air Ride is as good as it gets. Enjoy and, of course, pics are mandatory.
Be safe,

New Weekend! I guess I'll continue on the deck re-staining until my boxing plates get here! So far did our two redwood decks, side of house and front. Today will hit the hot tub cedar siding on the side deck, and then clear off and restain the back porch which is the biggest one at 9'x30'. My back and knees ache just thinking about it, but will be worth it in the end The back deck is Ipe wood, which doesn't like drinking in the stain as it's a very dense and resinous wood, but takes on a teak look after, so it's worth it!

What's the Dog's name?
Are those morning glorys on the fence?
Dog is Pretzel, where ever I go he's there. Best buddy a person could have. Yes the fence has morning glory on it, as my neighbor refuses to pull weeds or garden, fortunately for us her house is for sale, as soon as she's outta there I'll go and pull up all the morning glory. Once sold, I'll talk with new owners about cutting down the Eucalyptus trees which are very messy indeed!
That looks like a great hot tub setup. I actually like morning glory ...even the floral variety ;) ...as far as the vines grow I just have to keep them under control. The eucalyptus brings back memories of my dad. When we were kids and had a sniffle or worse he would always rub a little eucalyptus oil on our chest, throat, under our noses. It always made me feel better and even now whenever I see eucalyptus I snatch a leaf and go around smelling it as long as it lasts.
My dearest is a scaredy cat chicken about driving on highways with a loaded car. No point in me pushing on that point since it is what it is. As I was bringing up the roadster plan she even reminded me about her fear.
I will post pics back and hopefully with some willing beach babes sitting in the hot rod.
The hot tub comes in handy after long days like today slaving away on my knees(at 50 I guess I should hire someone else to do it, but I'm too much a perfectionist to do it right the first time, which most contractors don't seem to want to do, and those who do charge a lot for it. he worst part was squatting down with a shop vac and screw driver sucking up all the stuff caught between the cracks in the deck. Then scrubing the wood with deck cleaner. Long process but worth it in the end. So at the end of the day, I do it myself, and get free exercise in the bargain, knowing somewhere my mom and grandma are smiling thinking he learned that lesson! Decks are clean now, water is drying and dogs are mellow. Good day!
I realize it's not Friday today but I wanted to make a brief report of our stay at the Jersey shore. This house has a wooden plank hanging over the kitchen door with two NJ license plates on it; one is a '28 and the other is a '32. Thank you for your attention. As you were. At ease, folks.
http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ehouse2013.jpg
OK, so are you gonna make them an offer on the '32 plates or not?????
Not for your High Boy but for the Man Cave maybe???
I had Texas '56 Farm Truck plates on my Jimmy and I could have kept them but didn't GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - - oh well, it's 20/20/ they say?
Em,
I'm not making an offer on this NJ plate but it inspired me to search for one from PA and there are some available. I just want to find the right one, preferably original unrestored but in decent shape. It also made me look up the PennDOT laws about vintage plates so that clearly indicated I won't be running the plate on the car.
Move to Texas - - our Gubmint is nice to Classic and Hot Rod Owners. Buddy of mine from Minnesota says that his State is the best State for Car Enthusiasts but who wants to live in Minnie-Sody? JK, Y'all, JK
Michigan you can run a historical plate ($30. for 10 years) or a plate from the year the car was made ($35. for ten years) I just found one with my initales on it cost $20. so for $55.00 I'm good for 10 years
