the first car I saw was yesterday while getting mulch and compost by the truck load for the yard. Sitting in front of the lanscape supply was a Jeep Van/truck of the likes I'd never seen, just like this one.

the second was a Morris Minor around the corner while I was walking the dogs, like this one.

It was a pretty cool two days off to see two rare vehicles for this area. I've seen a few Minors, but never knew Jeep made a Van/truck. Found an old add for them

Thanks, Sto. I'm glad I looked in here since those brought back some memories. I've seen a few of each of those. The Jeep not in a few months but there's a large yard in the city near my mom's house that is full of Jeep stuff and I've seen a few of these coming and going there, as well as elsewhere over the years.
I like Morris Minors, too. There's a big old house near my house that has been converted into apartments and I always see a nice one parked in the driveway.
Stovens.. have you seen the corvair van/truck like that Jeep?
Re the Jeep . . . haven't seen so many in the last few years, but at one time they were fairly common . . . even had a mate that owned one.
(I've still got the mate; but the Jeep is long gone!)
As for the Minor . . . I've got one.
It's driven regularly too . . . 5-6000 miles last year.
Mine is the extremely rare model; the 1949 lowlight, that was built for only three years.
The lowlight has the lights in the grille; the later models (like you showed,) had the lights set in the top of the guards.
Repowered now with Datsun (can I say that word on here?) 1500, 5 speed manual, Nissan back axle, and Morris Marina front axle. Which gives us disc brakes.

Have seen a couple of those jeeps down here.. There was a Jeep dealer in West Auckland,where I used to live,,who had one of those,,plus a forward control style Land Rover,,which was very similar to that.. The Moggie?? well...there was thousands of the little beggars here at one time,,before our little country was flooded with cheap,worn out,or semi worn out Jap imports.. Johnboy has the things growing wild in his yard,like little English weeds,,in fact,,thats what is sitting out in front of his house,to upset the guy up the track from him.:LOL::LOL: And,,if ya look closely,,there is a very quick shot of one cruising the main street,in American Grafitti..

Never seen a Corvair like that. We have a Corvair club around here so we see quite a few hard and soft tops, but no van/trucks! I figured I'd do a search for one and post a shot here cause it sounded pretty unique! Then I found this shot and realized I saw one like it in thew last salute to American Graffeti car show here last may, just didn't realize it was a Corvair!

I happened upon a Corvair meet last year and stopped in to see them all. Your Forward Control Jeep pic struck a nerve and brought up that memory of the corvair vans. That pushme/pullyou should be under the category of "Just because you can, why bother!" imho...:eek::LOL::LOL:
