Non-Car ??? For The Country Boys...
So a couple of nights ago Bones went out just before bedtime and decided to play with a skunk. He got sprayed on the side of the face, neck & ear and his collars took a hit, too. The contain & train collar is a soft, pliable plastic with a radio receiver unit, all water proof. The center is two pieces and has a very tight joint, shown by the blue/gray interface, and the flexible ends are on shouldered screws.
Does anyone know how to get "Eau De Skunk" out of such a unit? It's obvious that the oily spray got into the recesses. Things that don't work are soaking in the H peroxide, baking soda, dishwashing soap, club soda mix that works for the dog; scrubbing with straight dishwashing soap; mineral spirits, brake cleaner, denatured alcohol; soaking in bleach & water; and WD40. The picture's not great, but you can see the construction joint. The blue/gray parts cannot be disassembled without rendering the collar ineffective and voiding the return credit when the batteries are gone. Innotek is actually sending me a new collar as a courtesy under warranty, but I'm sure this could happen again ..... The aroma is diminished, but definitely still present.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
We managed to get a couple of other small things taken care of. One was blacking out the front of the core support. When the sun hit the front of the car just right that green paint on the core...
