neighbor down the way has an all steel 34 ford 5 window coupe body for sale, wants to trade me for my corvair straight across. its just a body with doors, minus trunk lid and glass. had the sliding soft top deal. has solid floors and cowl firewall never been hacked up. sure would be fun. my buddy just got done building a frame for the same guys t bucket a few months back,...all steel sure would be fun :D

There's no "sliding soft top deal" Scoot...........they all had a hole in the top that was covered with padded soft material (vinyl). Ford didn't have access to sufficient stamping capability/technology for a solid roof until the '37 model year. Tough to say without seeing it, but my guess would be it's worth more than the 'vair unless it's a tin worm museum. I can see it now................
upon closer inspection it was a 34 plymouth im not to good at id'n these old time cars but i figure out the quarter windows, doors, and dash board are all different
I'd do it if the body is in pretty decent shape. That's even more cool IMO as they are few and far between.
Nothing wrong with a Plymouth and you certainly would have an unusual car, but remember that parts (like the missing trunk lid) are going to be difficult to source and probably more expensive than they would have been for the Ford. Reproduction parts are probably not made for that model and there just aren't that many around. Just be aware of this before you make your decision.

Restorod is right, but you will still have one sweet ride when you're done. I'm sure some one can build the deck lid for you if you can't locate one.
