Thanx Robin, Yep, I have a great network of friends and associates in the industry.
Always have 2 or 3 @ my disposal. After I sold my shop and got tired of buildin for other people. You know the drill, charge 40 - 60 K to build them a car then when done they expect a Ridler winner. Just got tired of the BS.
Now I find em like this where the guy has dropped 25 to 40 K in parts( buy em for 40 to 60 cents on the dollar invested), done most of the grunt work, then tells his wife he needs another 15 to 25 K to have it painted and trimmed, and her statement is usually, "You sell that damn thing cause you ain't puttin 1 more dollar in it !" That's where I come into the picture.
I can usually finish 1 up for 5 -7 K and sell it @ a very fair reduced price and make a tidy profit. Must be doin sumthin right as I have gone thru 25 like this since I closed my shop down in AZ and moved to OK 3 years ago

That's kool,Don.. You have a large area in which to look for these too,,with the population,and all,,so it helps..I often wonder what you are going to find next.. ;) And,,usually,once you have finished the first few,,they become self sufficient,so to speak,,don't they?? No need to dip into any other money to purchase,and keep the cycle running.. Looking forward to seeing it finished..
Do you know whose body it is?? Wescotts,maybe??

Well I've had it 24 hrs now and have taken inventory of what I'll need to finish it.
Paint materials, dead cow, new rolling stock and freon.
Gonna do it a light tan ( Like on the coupe pic attached), and use the same color Dead Cow as in my roadster, with the same tire and wheel combo that's on my current roadster

I really like that color. Is there any special na,e for that other than leather? I want to do the seats in my 72 in something like that. Thanks Ryan.

Ryan, It's dead cow or to others leather, ya can buy any color ya want.
Just go to local supply house and ask to see available tanning colors and textures.
Not for the faint of heart though as far as the wallet is concerned.
$350 to $500 a hide.
The Vicky will probably eat up 7 -8 hides. And you thought Prime rib was expensive? The hide is the leftovers !!!!!!!!!!

I believe that's what's called "distressed leather" tanning, and you can get something very similar in vinyl, advertised as faux distressed leather fabric. Visit a good auto upholstery fabric store.

I'm not a critic - just a casual observer. ';)

Been gone for 2 weeks to LARS, got back Tuesday and re cooped Wednesday.
Mowed acres of lawn on thursday.
Got back on it yesterday.
New wheels (painted yesterday) and tires , rear fenders and gas tank cover off , prepped and painted.
Just finished installing 2" dropped spindles

Man that is awesome and one thing I admire about you Don is that you break away from the " Norm " in your choice of colours and wheels. In that photo of the front wheel one can see the improvement of the 2" drop already. Are doing a thread on the Greybeards road trip or have I missed it somewhere ?

Thanx for the KUDOS, Never been normal, (so they tell me) ya gotta think outside the box and keep it simple. It's worked 4 me for over 45 years. I don't follow trends, just a traditionalist I guess.
Didn't start a Greybeard thread as there are many on the net by others.
