I sure have been blessed with great friends...

While I'm not discounting anyone here and I do conceder you all friends, I have a good number of good friends. You know the guys that will drop just about anything in a moments notice to give ya a hand. Or the guy that you can really open up to with out fear the whole world will know your business with in a week. Those guys that you can be on the world apart on a serious issue and in the end its still OK. I'm very fortunate...

So a while back a good buddy Chuckers donated a really nice 39 Ford Banjo steering wheel to the model a project. Being I am running an newer tilt column I wasn't sure how it would work if at all. Turns out that just had to cut a key way into the steering tapered steering shaft and all is good. Last week I had a few minutes and spent some time on the lathe and made a new center for the steering wheel as I didn't want to go shopping for a center cap and horn button for it. It turned out OK and looked old school enough that I could run it till I found an original. So today another good friend came by and started talking about how impressed he was with the piece I made for the wheel. He said he would like me to make him one for his 36 for him. I just smiled and took the one off the Model A and gave it to him. He him'ed and haw'ed and finally took it. He then pulled out of his back pocket an original 39 Deluxe Horn button and gave it to me saying he had an extra one... What a guy. Little things like that I will remember every time I honk the horn in the A. Its things like this that is what really makes building cars really really cool.
