Hey Uncle Bob, my '66 F100 bumpers finally got closer to the ground!!

Yes, I finally did it! I scored a new-in-box DJM front/rear lowering kit from a fella who never got around to installing it. After a few weeks of pre-prep, like snagging an extra set of '74+ spindles at PickAPart on half-price day and fitting them with new king pins & bushings in advance, and a few other things, I was able to do the swap last weekend all by myself. I also added some 17x7 front/17x9 rear steelies from Wheel Vintiques along with some repop bottlecaps from Bob Drake. Some day I'll get around to making the whole truck the same color but there's also the faint cry of my '37 coming from the garage.....:CRY::CRY::3dSMILE:

Bust away! My chops are tough!!! :LOL::LOL::LOL: However, the '37 isn't a coupe. It's a 2 door humpback sedan.:3dSMILE: It's been so long since you've seen any progress on it I can see how you might forget.....ouch! I just busted my own chops!! :LOL::LOL:

Well I'm impressed with the whole truck and tho not all one colour, the paint looks fairly tidy and shiny as is which gives the vehicle the " Used a Lot " look. I must of been living in a dark cave as this is the first time I have seen a '66 F100. I actually had to go back and look at a photo of Lamin8rs to compare body styles between his '60 and your '66.

My brother in Tauranga has one, original-as from '66 except the Windsor is now a 302 instead of the 289 it came with.

Body is good and rust-free and the ol' green paint has a nice patina.

Unless Ford did something different in Kiwi-land in '66, there's no way your brother's truck came with a 289. The only engine options for the F100 here were 240 I6, 300 I6 or the 352 FE V8. :) The 302 became a factory option for the F100 in 1969.

Mine has a 302....or should I say fuel injected 5.0 from a '92 Mustang GT. :D

You're right - the truck was imported a few years ago and somebody in the US must have changed it out a long time ago.

I can't recall NZ getting '66 F100s new but could be wrong.
