Winter Storm NE USA

For some unknown reason, Casa Grande and Gila Bend get darned hot....hotter than Phoenix.....and neither have the heat from pavement like Phoenix does. We came thru Yuma and Casa Grande two years ago in the black 39 and it was 119 at the BP check point. Of course, that car has a lot of lizard skin insulation and the really good 3M tint on the windows. A/C on and cool inside. Regarding your 185 in the truck, we regularly see 160 in a closed vehicle here.....when we were building our house, I had left one of the fire sprinkler heads in the truck and it popped off.....

Man, that is a bad deal for all of those folks out east. I sure am glad we did not get any of it though.

Some of the pictures I've seen coming from the region remind me of our Sierra Foothills winters; our yard and decks looked a lot like that several times a winter, but it was intermittent, and might hang around a week or so and be gone - then another one would come and dump on us. About five hundred more feet in elevation, and it was an all season long affair. And then, there is south central Aridzona..................................

Just thought you guys should know............sitting here beside the pool at the Mawamba Lodge in Tortuguero, Costa Rica drinking a beer............it's about 75 and sunny...........enjoy!

How much do the legal girls charge, Uncle Bob? Inquiring minds want to know.

Don't wander off of those raised walkways, Uncle Bob! Who knows what's lurking in that shallow tidal pool beneath you!!

Oh, another memory! A couple of those little seed pods that fall out of the trees make a great, echoing sound when launched up to drop on the metal roof of those cabins! Just in case you have friends in the group, and want to give them some excitement.... Tortuguero is a great place! I think that may be where we did the zip line, but not 100% sure. I know it was in a rain forest area and we got soaked!!

We did a guided walk in the jungle last night.........very cool! Didn't see a lot but heard plenty.

I heard on the radio today that on Monday into Tuesday we could get a similar type of storm as what hit the east coast last week.

Yep, another wave building. Right now we're slated to see two rainy days, but around the Missouri/Iowa Line they're saying as it transitions the snow may stack up a foot or more. I'll be happy with the rain....

The question is, who has the money? Like the saying goes, I have enough money to retire but I am not sure how I can afford the second month..... I am jealous, Uncle Bob......you're probably looking for old tin down there and figuring out how to hot rod stuff in Central America. Tough life there, friend.

We've had so much rain lately, I can't decide which is worse. After this weekend with the warm up, I'm guessing the snow will be better than the rain. (For the time being)

This morning our weather crew was waffling, showing that the path of the storm depends on how a low pressure area down in the SE moves over the next few days, putting the KC area in their "hard to say for sure...." category - we may get rain, we may get snow or we may get the sloppy winter mix. They seem pretty confident that we're gonna get wet mid-week.
