I will be there Friday & Saturday, I will be in my '37. sedan, next to my buddies '62 vette. Hopefully I will be around if you get a chance to come by! Matt
Met up with Matt just before he left trying to head off the storms. I did take a few pictures and I'll post some.Attachment 67580Attachment 67579Attachment 67581Attachment 67582Attachment 67583

Don't think I've ever seen a chopped Merc station wagon.
One of the prettiest shades of blue I've ever seen.Attachment 67631Attachment 67630Attachment 67629Attachment 67632Attachment 67633
WOW Ken, those were great!
Almost like I was there. Thanks for sharing/making the time for us.

Ken:
Love the pics, keep them coming! I am partial to Model A's though! LOL
Thank's, Rich
Ken, Great getting to meet you, sorry for the quick exit, we drove in heavy rain for about 15 miles then stopped in Bolivar (30miles north) under a canopy at a gas station for about a hour while it hailed heavily, after that it was damp but clear sailing home. I called a buddy who we left in Springfield, he said during the hail they put many of the rods in the covered horse barn while it hailed in the fair grounds. About 20 miles from my home they got baseball sized hail (yes thats not exagerrating, the news station showed up) My buddy Mike with the '62 vette got home to no electricity and trees down in his town. Close call but we made it with a little hot rod baptism! We will see you next year! It was a amazing show, and the cruise down Kearney Street at night was as good as anywhere! Matt
Well that's all folks, but I couldn't end it without a couple of more. The 62 Vette is one of the finest I've laid these old eyes on and I'm partial to Vettes and especially 62's. Matt's 37 is a very well built rod as well.Attachment 67719Attachment 67720
I got home about 1:30 and it looked to me that you were driving right into the storm. One of the reasons I left when I did is because north of I-44 generally gets the worst part of storms and this was no exception. I put my Dakota in the garage, but all we got was a lot of rain and some wind. Glad to hear that you and your buddy and kids made it home safely. Maybe I can get up to your neck of the woods sometime this summer. I have a couple of grandsons in Liberty and one of my son in laws was mostly raised in Clinton. I am sorry that Roger Spears couldn't make it this year, maybe next year.
Hope you enjoy the pictures
Ken
Here is the hail that hit a distance from our homes while we where driving, we missed the bullet on the way home! This pic was from one of Kansas City's news stations, man that would hurt!

I've never seen hail that size. That could do some serious damage, glad you missed it.
I totally missed Memorial Day weekend coming up this year until it was here. We had hail blow in a week ago Thursday, the 18th, nothing like Matt shows in size but enough that I'll be getting a new roof in a month or so....
