It isn't your point that madders so much, but the point that so many news peeps, politicians talk the Full Automatic, Machine Gun line for gun control issues that the stories get slanted so far from what actually happened how to a rambling river of BS that diverts attention away from real facts/issues that then never get cleared up in the heads of so many----------

As far as banning bump fire stocks, I wouldn't necessarily be against it but as far as keeping them out of the publics' hands that ship has already sailed.
Last night one of the national news commentators was discussing how easily bump stocks could be purchased and quoted a ridiculously low price for them. I like to do my own fact checking so I went to a couple of sites I buy ammo from to verify the cost. Guess what....every place I checked showed them out of stock. Which means that they are truly sold out and will sell everyone they can get their hands on, or they have pulled all their stock and are holding it until just before the ban goes into effect and will make a huge profit on them. Frankly banning them will probably put more of them in circulation that doing nothing.
Even though I suspect they will probably be be banned in the near future, it doesn't mean that they won't be available to anyone who really wants one or even several. The programing for making them with a 3D printer is already available on line.

Not much comment here except what makes someone think that when someone is going to do something illegal (shoot people) they are going to for me some crazy reason be legal and abide by the law on a weapons purchase??? Yeah drugs are illegal and they have gone away........right
Do people really think that criminals make sure their car registration and insurance is up to date when they do a drive by?? Criminals simply are criminals because they DON'T obey laws, don't think they will when they are passed!

i agree 100% stovens. I sincerely believe the news media of this nation perpetuates 90% of the hype (mostly false and negative) in this country and its sad, really sad man. I keep my head in the sand and don't even have, subscribe to, or watch tv anymore. I do have a tv but its only good to just watch movies, else i read or work in my garage or work outside. As to guns, unless they've grown brains or artificial intelligence, last time i checked its people that kill people, which is unfortunate as well. I agree, how one was raised and the paths he or she takes in life, tells the tale in most cases.
I take it that logic, rationale, reasoning, common sense, reality, philosophy, lessons gained from guys like Descartes, mathematics, the US Constitution, history, ethics, human psychology, probabilities and statistics, etc etc are unfamiliar concepts to you...makes me more glad and fortunate that i got my education and perspectives from real life and real people,Quote:

Evolvo, you mentioned Trump's trip to Mar-a-Logo averaged 'X' amount of taxpayer dollars. Regardless of where a President goes, its going to cost tax payer dollars. Nonetheless, here's the beauty of it, Trump owns Mar-a-Logo so at least the taxpayer's not paying for hotel expenses........Trump's given millions of his dollars to charities and good causes....hard pressed to name a recent Pres who's done that. The man paid for his own campaign, does not draw a Presidential salary, etc. Again......how many President's out there have done this? So when you talk about expenses, you're not exactly comparing apples to apples. the problem with the lefts gun control is they dont want it. they had the power do do it all but did nothing. i know of no one opposed to background checks. when my bride bought her pistol at the gun show it took about 15 min to clear her. if they would allow private sellers access to the data they could do it also. and they would prefer to do it. i sure as hell dont want to sell a gun to some one else that would come back on me . same with a car . i'm for doing the bak ground check bill and put an end to this . this will force the left to tell the truth. they want confiscation period. no one needs a full auto and the only people who own them are highly regulated collectors or dealers.
I once had a full automatic single shot 22------------one pull of the trigger untill gun empty would either kill that damn rabbit or we'd go hungry a little longer
I agree no one "needs" full auto. But I'd sure like to have one of those modified .22s with the round barrel mag that shoots like a buzz saw. Bye bye squirrels. :LOL: Feeding the darn thing would be the expensive part. Haha

Whats the problem-I started it as a patriotic thing about the Office of the President----not political, religous or numerous other objectionable themes------since then we have had NFL???, now a shooting by someone( or several) people that are evil and some discussion about rifles and hunting ??????
i think things will be fine . civil discussion never leads to trouble. i think the problem is gone now .

Great points. The scary thing to me is social media and the ability of complex programming to target, research and sway individuals based on demoographics they collect. Listening to how face book offered to help both parties identify and reach people using a 1000 different versions of the same add or news feed and analyse what each individual responded to, then target them with custom made feeds kind of scares the crap out of me when you realize how many people seem to get their news from these sources. Then add any media source news agency and they will sway what you see and here for maximum effect to their advantage. Funny thing when I was a young adult still learning to cut my teeth at 18 I had some pretty strong opinions that didn't take into account all of the facts out there. Mind you that was over 37 years ago. I took a few lower division college courses and was very influenced by the Political Science classes and the professors teaching them, until in one class the professor gave use an assignent to read two articles in two different magazines about the same event. These were about some president(can't remember if it was Carter or Reagan, featured in Newsweek, and Time magazines. Each gave a completely different slant to what was reported. For the first time in my life I began to see there is always more than one side to any story, so I stopped reacting instantly to what was being said and tried to understand both sides as best as I could. It was a little easier then because the average source of info was newspaper or evening news. It wasn't until Dan Rather and Haroldo Rivera that it became obvious to a lot of us, that people will do whatever they can to reach power and wealth regardless of any facts. I in general don't trust politicians of any flavor, any news program on tv, or radio, and nothing on social media. I agree it would be great for our country and the rest of the world to show more moral integrity, and honesty, I just think it is being brainwashed out of the folks you hear about in the news, and those of us who have higher values and belief systems are never recognized to the point of frustration when the media paints whatever they want people to react to. In other words we focus on the negative and not the positive. It's easy to incite anger, but harder to recognize the good that is all around us, because that's not what makes money for the people who control what we hear on the news and in social media.Quote:

I agree. The problem I see everyday is there are too many sheep that will follow and don't care. Whom ever they are following is correct, and that is the way. Period. Yeah, we have a problem. I'd be lying if I didn't say I think of ways to move to Alaska and start a homestead and leave a place for my kids to raise their kids. That doesn't teach them much about the real world though.......
Shine, I heard something on WHO the other day where a group of activists were trying to push the exact thought you just said. Start appointing small business owners to senate positions/government officials etc, and the way this country would be ran would be night and day difference.
Perhaps this country needs to introduce bracket racing to the world of politics. At least then, a more even or level playing ground could be established for those who want to do good and run for office. As far as the MEDIA goes, the tech inspectors need to bar them every time until they meet the requirements of fair and balanced news reporting as opposed to the opinionated commentary or spin that is overwhelmingly found today. I'm only forty years old but even i remember when the national news could actually run consecutive nightly segments that did not even talk or mention anything about the President AND if they did run an episode that talked about the President, it was sometimes in a positive light and not always 'oh things are bad with the Pres for the 7 millionth day in a row of our reporting, wait till you hear this...'
