i think the very fist thing we need to do is get the press back to being as neutral as possible politically. get them to report the news and the actual facts of events like they used to way back in the day. guys like walter cronkite reported the news, they didnt give their opinions of what was being reported, they left that up to the people watching the news.
we need to have the press knock off the crap of excoriating candidates on one side of the isle, while propping up the other side.
if we can do that, then we can start getting good candidates running for office again. candidates that will work for the good of the country, instead of building their own power.
and we as a country need to get back to the divisiveness of the current political atmosphere. we need to stop screaming about bull crap, and watch what the politicians actually do. and we need to hold the politicians feet to the fire. if they say they want to repeal and replace something, then we need to make sure tehy actually DO IT, instead of just paying lip service when we give them the control they need to get it done.
