Another terrible incident happened last night. For those outside the USA whom haven't heard about it:

I hope none of you had friends or family there or that were injured or killed in this. Such a tragedy.
It was on our news last night and also in today's papers.
How anyone could be so twisted as to commit something as absolutely atrocious as that is beyond my understanding.
sadly this is nothing new or something that only happens here. i'm old enough to remember the tower shooter in austin . the big difference is there are now over 320 million people here and instant media . we have pushed morality and patriotism out of our schools . i find it hard to believe someone plans something like this and absolutely no on knew. hopefully in time we will know . in the meantime all we can do is pray for those effected and become more diligent in our surroundings. if you see something say something. that guy hauled 19 firearms and thousands of rounds up to that room. someone must have saw him at least once.
Sadly, no one wants to get involved!:(..Now it seems with all the media that we are exposed to daily, someone will copycat this in another location! Hopefully I'm wrong!
As for not getting involved I feel as though I'm the one of the very few in today's world that stops to help people broke down on the highway. I'm NEVER going to let a woman sit there with a flat tire! I'm certain that a lot of you on here feel the same because we're a different breed than most!:D

I agree with you as I try to help anyone that I see who needs help but I am also very careful when approaching a car or person because of all of the dopers we have here. Ther seems to be at least two or three stabbings a day around this arera.

I'll just put this here and see how long before it is removed from youtube. If any of you are following this, from everything I'm seeing and hearing, it is a cover up of epic proportions. If you have the extra time watch it. There are so many red flags on this one, it is so bazaar.

I listen close and can't give an opinion.
The rate of fire is not constant but that could be resultant from the bump stock.
It almost sounds like multiple shooters but when you consider echo, it sounds like a single.
It's a sad day for everyone involved.

I don't like watching it much either but there is a lot of weird stuff that seems to be trying to get buried here. Reporters cutting off witnesses when they speak about multiple shooters etc. Now some believe the original shooter is an undercover FBI agent that was an arms dealer whom was selling guns/weapons to ISIS and they figured it out.Quote:

I'm not saying it is all true, but it does tie up some loose ends and explain some of the mysteries of WTF.....

We here in Las Vegas have had our collective hearts banged up to a very large degree; I can't talk about the events of last Sunday without getting choked up, and I am a pretty calloused individual - I have seen and been involved in more than a soul ought to be, so I ought to be iron clad, but I guess I'm not. I heard that at the first alarm, all fire stations doors opened, and the units were either rolled out and manned, waiting, or were on standby inside, and certain EMS units were assigned to standby in their stations/areas while all the rest headed to the scene. The ten major hospitals in the valley were immediately alarmed, and when the first casualties arrived they were ready; one anecdote from a guy who was in an ER waiting room went something like this: I was just sitting there waiting, the place was pretty quiet, not a lot of people, medical or patients around. All of a sudden, there were people, lots of medical people getting busy gathering stuff and equipment, quietly preparing for something, no panic or big show - then the first ambulance came in and the place was like a finely tuned machine, taking care of business. On the "civilian" side of things, many folks let the authorities know that they were available to do anything they could to help, but most just stood by waiting to be called. Later, some gathered supplies and took water, coffee, sandwiches, donuts and other things to the people working at the scene, and to the many hundreds of volunteers who were lined up at the four blood donation centers in the valley before dawn the next morning. The stories of heroism and caring are many and some great, from and of local folks and visitors to our town alike. As a community, we're functioning, but it is going to be a long time before we are "back to normal". Most folks who come here don't see the community, only the bright lights, but there are over two million people here who make all of those lights shine, and we are truly a community.
Most of what is being bandied about as "news" is pure bull****, conjecture, rumor, gossip; not much of it has any base in fact. The truth may never be wholly known. When the Sheriff and his PIOs change their story at almost each and every appearance to bring updates, it takes away a lot f their believability. And the stuff that comes from federal sources is virtually nonexistent, and often questionable because it is second, third or fourth hand or more. I am a dyed in the wool; skeptic, so I don't look at all of it the same way someone else might; I don't think there is much truth or fact being told about this calamitous event. Some say that it is unbelievable that that guy could have gotten those guns into that room without someone noticing: Well, consider that this guy was a known high roller, a multi-millionaire who frequented all of the hotels and casinos; all he needed to do was show up with a pile of "stuff", slip a porter a hundred or two and ask him to take that stuff up to his room. If it wasn't obvious what that stuff was, the porter would just haul it up and stash it in the room, no questions asked. So, it is up for grabs, as far as I am concerned - shades of November, 1963.

Its reported in the news that he fired 200 rounds thru the door and one round hit the security guy in the leg?????????and reports of people on the ground shooting into the crowd?? they need to verify that all the wound angles match the numbers of his plan on that piece of paper-----
A lot of stuff doesn't add up. If he shot 200 rounds through the door, where are all the casings next to his body in the pics? Why did the police use explosives to take the door down, even though the door looks to be kicked/knocked down, how about no one mentioning the several dead bodies on other floors of the Mandalay Bay hotel, or the gun shots that took place at the Bolagio hotel? We may never know the truth. Things keep being removed off of you tube and other media sites. Rrumbler is right, that area will not be normal for a long time I'm sure. I quit following it so I could keep up with my own stuff. Maybe while the dust is settling the truth will come out. I'm doubtful though.
I am amazed at the stupidity of the press in the USA. They spout numbers such as "firing 600 rounds per minute" but conveniently leave out that a typical magazine is 30 rounds... OR even 50 rounds. At that ROF, a 30 round mag lasts 3 seconds (1/20th of a minute)....so 200 rounds into a door requires several magazine changes. I call BS on them. Of course, sensationalism sells TV ads.

I have a fiend and her son in-law and her daughter both work in Mandalay Bay.
Not sure what her Daughter does there but the Son in-law was a Bartender and was running around trying to get people down in the basement.
Really didn't know just how bad it was at first because the media was saying only 2 dead but when he and another guy said they were stepping over all these bodies I figured it was a lot worse then the media first let on. I said for a long time we have been dodging bullets out here, I knew it was just a matter of time with all the craziness going on in the world today. My wife said I'll never go to a out door concert again. And I said it was a good thing they were out side or they might have been tapped with only one exit area to escape. Just too sad, a lot of good people died there, just trying to have a good time and relax.
How sad is it when the biggest worry used to be how long the line is going to be.
