As some of you may remember, I had to have our 13 year old beagle put down last fall. We weren't going to get another dog but I was missing having one too much. We've been keeping an eye on the Humane Society web site but nothing was really calling me. Turns out through a few conversations, I found out that my neighbor 1 1/2 miles away who raises Golden Retrievers and Golden Doodles had a 6 month old female retriever he needed to find a home for. He sold her to a lady for a " comfort & therapy dog " and she spent $3,500 ( yes, I typed that right ) on training but then returned her because she had a crooked paw ( which none of us can see ) and she pee'd too much ( um, she's a puppy ) Any how, it worked out well for us because he really didn't want to advertise her because it can make him look bad so he gave her to us for free! The only stipulation is I have to get her fixed because he doesn't sell competition which is understandable. She is adorable and amazing, she follows us around and doesn't wander off the acreage at all, just like this was always her home, and I forgot how much puppies love to play, I might loose some weight
